Hello all.
As a child in the old Hornmann/Flosso magic shop in Manny-Hanny NYC - I watched as
Al Flosso (The Coney Island Fakir himself) performed his Misers Dream. I was 9 years old. I was
floored before I knew what this term meant to the magic community. IT was MAGIC! I learned my basics
of coin work there. Bobo, Dingle...and so many more added fleshing out(s).
Dan Harlan (of
course)- does his 'Dream' his own way...but really, fairly close to Tarbell's outline. Its damn
good. It is a 'Harlan' performance - and very well constructed.
The whole download was paid
for - in full - by just this opener. (And the rest is even better).
I have performed coin
work from Seattle to Moscow. And there are many who work coins more impressively than I...just as I
work cards but never was really good at knuckle buster moves...but I honestly can pass and never
been questioned (favorite pass is the Turnover - btw). Still and all, they were enjoyed performances
by all involved.
OK - enough of stating my personal experience and timeline.
THIS is a
really good investigation of Tarbell 23. If you do coin work..I doubt you will not enjoy the
purchase. Hells Bells...its less expensive than a good coin pull.
Watch it..practice...and you
will ALWAYS have a good set of effects in your pocket.

if you are new to coins or even an expert, this teaches you many tips and tricks on coins. Dan even
teaches you how to make your own set of palming coins and it is so easy to make! I recommend this a
lot for everyone! If you are looking for the best deal, try the tarbell subscription though, as it
is only $10 for at least a couple of the tarbells!

I had not used coins previously. After watching the download (multiple times) I now use coins more
than anything else. I do gospel illusions, an coins are quick easy an fascinates the kids to listen
to the story more than anything I have tried. It has lead me to seek out more coin illusions. I
don't have to set up are reset anything. I can spend more time on the message not the magic. It's
all about the message not the magic. 😃

I only have a few of the Tarbell downloads but this one is the best.
After watching Dan's
lessons, and practicing many times, I am ready to perform. I have the Tarbell books but this is much
easier to follow.
Highly recommended.

I can't say enough about this edition of the Tarbell Every Trick in the Book series except that it
was a fascinating lesson not only in magic effects but also in creativity. I've read all the books
and to see Dan re-envisioned interpretation of those effects is just plain genius!! There are two
very strong effects in this edition that are going right into my parlour act.
Passe Coins
and Glasses: This effect can play big! I love the use of a glass and jar and the method is simple
but devious. I picked my mason jars today and I am in the process of gathering and constructing the
remaining items. This one goes into my act right away.
The Phantom Coin: Perfect close-up
effect. I've seen an effect similar to this in the past. However this routine allows someone like me
(with intermediate coin skills) to perform this effect without all the "knuckle busting" sleights
and still impress.
The Coin in the Magical Envelope: THIS IS THE ONE!! Seriously! I would
have purchased this effect as a stand alone DVD and been very satisfied with my purchase. There were
a couple of times I felt a moment of awe and surprise that I remember feeling when I was just
starting out in magic. It has plenty of guest interaction (which i love) and really powerful and
surprising effects. The structure and handling from start to finish (except one brief moment) was
smooth and made sense. I applaud one of the simple sleights that he teaches in this routine. It's a
very devious variation on a simple sleight that all magicians know.
What I love best about
this series is that Dan will go out of his way to use items that he constructed and then shows you
have to construct them. AND I can actually find the materials in my local stores! I must say that
the entire series has been well worth the money, time, and effort. Like a really great TV series, I
look forward to each edition.
Thank you Dan and Thank you Penguin!

That missers routine is awesome. I want to put it in my parlor show immediately. Finally a hand
movements coin routine from this Dan Tarbell series. The performances seems to amaze me that these
tricks are relatively new, looking like they where performed a million times. Great Stagestry. I say
that this is what exactly classic coin work modernized by a talented(sometimes rambler, but I guess
some of his advice is good for people who need to learn that and and little bit of the time myself)
magician should look like. I highly recommend this just for that first trick.
P.S. I would do
that trick with four coins instead of five and it would be just a small part of a middle of the show
7min manipulation flurry with music, cards, rings and maybe etc. Sophistication good download. Real
world looking Missers. *

I collected most of those Tarbell tricks, its fun watching dan , lol.. However these are good tricks
for beginners and recalls to the old ways of ding tricks. I enjoy watching them no matter what. DAN,
you forgot to add the PDF file for the Letter at the end. Can you please send a link to that. the
PDF you said you were going to give at the end. I recommend this Tarbell, it is fun.

Every time I purchase one of these Tarbell videos I feel like saying "Dan is a genius." In fact I
do say it to my dog Mozart (who is also a genius). I have every single one of these and feel like I
have underpaid for what I have received.
Don't get me wrong, I am not above a negative review
(see some on some of the lectures), but this stuff is really, really good. I use some in my own
work as well and learning a great deal about inventive techniques.
I can't imagine anyone
being disappointed with any of these.

Tarbell 23 is a collection of impactful coin routine's & ideas that Dan has uniquely restructured &
renovated up to date !,as Dan has repeadedly pointed out through out the Tarbell presentations are
the encompassing principles inherent to an effect it's inner workings so that one can innovate on
his or her own! What is so impressive about Dan Harlan besides his vast knowledge of the art,is the
Man's Intellect he's one of the most articulate educated creative artist on the contemporary magic
scene, the Tarbell promo's scripts are lesson's within itself! The whole Tarbell series is required
foundation of the craft !

This is solid material presented in clear detail by a very competent teacher. One of the routines is
already part of my repertoire. Can't ask for more.
