Doesn't even work as advertised. Maybe this works for a few who have ideal conditions or maybe i got a non-working product. I couldn't get the sound to ever transmit to the phone at all. Not even in a pin drop silent room at 2am in the night. I wonder about people mentioning that others might hear the gimmick unless you have the optimal sound to drown it out etc. That's just not true. Its so weak that i couldn't hear ANYTHING even with the gimmick just 2 feet from my ear in a totally silent ambiance.

I agree with members here who posted that its pretty low-tech and doesn't justify the price at all, but I still wouldn't have cared about the price thing if it at least worked. I contacted the creator and was treated apathetically and then given a replacement after much argument, which turned out as weak as the one i returned to penguin. Maybe they just resent the same one.

Very unsatisfied with Penguin on this one. Its now just lying around in the new box as arrived and will never be of use. What a waste of money. It is nothing but finicky junk and major rip off.

I saw it and thought "ok nice let's buy it, it's fun" and I saw the price...99dollars... when it worth maybe 30 ... without me... don't buy it and wait until the pricing get reviewed, if not you can find the secret easily and make the gimmick in better quality for few dollars.

It worth maybe more than 1 star but I don't believe people could genuinly have given 5 stars... some reviews are fake so I wanted to correct it a bit.

Way way way over priced. About $10 worth of material with fancy box. I felt i got scammed.

To be confident in its use, you need the perfect level of distraction noise. Just enough to cover spectators from hearing the voice real time, yet just under the amount that would drown out the voice production in the playback recording.
There are sleeveless ways to use this, but it appears a bit more unnatural and I won't use it that way.
When you can pull it off, it is hard hitting, but I hate going into a situation wondering maybe.......
I would pass on this product based on practicality/price.

I hate giving this product a negative review. It was brilliant in conception, but has become so unusable for the price tag I feel it is unethical to have been restocked. The phone needs significant reworking after updates made years ago.. I purchased this two years ago and have only been able to make use once after much frustration. Far better ways out there for this kind of work...

Playing it in a quiet situation is completely impossible and the price isn't fair.That why I gave three stars.

I hardly ever write reviews, mostly because the effects I buy are not practical in the real world. EVP, however is one of the best magic products I've ever purchased.

The gimmick is extremely well made and comfortable. The method is perfectly natural and easy to do. There are no noise issues and zero angle restrictions.

Setup will take you maybe 2 mins and you're ready to perform all day and night. 5 second reset. You do need a smartphone as the ad copy says. Keep in mind this is not an app you download and you do not have to set their phone up at all.

The instructional video gives you every bit of info you will need along with additional tips, an uncut critiqued performance, and trouble shooting tips.

The recording is on your spectator's phone and they keep it. It's a real recording. This effect is so incredibly strong, so I really hope anyone who buys this does not use it immorally. Just be aware that your spectator may be going through some difficult times and the act of hearing a voice from a 'spirit' can trigger strong emotions.

You are going to scare the crap out of people with this - it's really that good!

This is so great, I have had watched it several times before buying it , the idea is just like I expected, but with a small change that made it such a great trick, plus he teaches everything that you needed to know & other ideas to do with it . At the end he teaches with Tshirt so the gimmick is more freely and much more comfortable, it became part of you, I just loved it , play with it wisely & don't hurt people feelings, it's so strong and so powerful, your acting can help to make it so dramatic & creepiest.

I have used this trick for a 60 member audience, it works just as well with a few people. The reactions are strong, and priceless! The clicker could be a little quieter, but there is a workaround I made, so it's not a big issue. This works in any language, and I can apply it in so many situations. I'm creeping out my co-workers at my day job, and my wife's friends. I love how it can be custom, to any 'conversation'.

This is absolutely one of my favorite effects to perform...in the cold (I'll explain below). The reason is that it's not just another "magic trick". Sometimes I enjoy purely entertaining, which in this case may mean scaring or potentially scarring, so be cautious who you perform this in front of! For me, it's better presented with a haunted theme however, this can be used for your magical purposes as well. In fact, with some slight creativity, I'm sure you could come up with a bunch of other uses for this to suit your own style.

A quick note about the contents and instructions. It was definitely one of the most thorough teachings of an effect that I have ever received. They literally walk you step-by-step through everything. I doubt you'll have any questions after viewing. A great thing they did was show a performance by someone who just learned how to do it and critiqued that performance. There is an opportunity for young performers to really gain insight, I think that can be immensely helpful and cool to be included. Also, I really enjoyed the method and to me, it's just as fun to set up and perform as it is to experience with my audience. I haven't felt that way with an effect in quite some time.

My one hang up is that it does require a jacket to perform and I live in Florida, so It's very seldom I get to wear one. They do include a method to perform it in a hoodie, which is a nice workaround but the jacket method is the most natural for me. Usually, that would be a deal breaker but for this effect, it's still worth it. Also, some have mentioned the noise problem, I haven't had an issue with this. What I do is first check it before I perform to make sure it's not a problem and proceed from there. Now as far as the price, it was worth it for me but you're going to have to be the judge of that for yourself. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Have fun with it.
