The ad copy and video for Phantom are extremely misleading. Buyers beware.
First, It
indicates in the ad copy that invisible thread is not used. This is semantics. Beware.
Second, the thing that comes from the gimmick for just over 3 inches. Thus the gimmick cannot
be that far away from the card(s). When you watch the videos you clearly see beyond 3 inches around
the deck or bottle cap and you do not see the gimmick being held. Without giving it away the
gimmick is about 5.5 inches long so not something you can miss. The gimmick looks like something we
are all familiar with but imagine holding a long 5 inch object next to the box or bottle for no
apparent reason as the card rises or the bottle/cap spin... it's suspicious. If the gimmick is
used in the demo it's done in a deceptive (misleading manner) that you would not be able to get away
with in real use. The gimmick would have to extend from the back of the hand (and again it is 5.5
inches long). On the video instructions the gimmick looks glaringly odd in the position required.
This is simply not shown on the trailer. The video performance in the instructional section is
disappointing. In the trailer it looks like magic. As noted, in my opinion, the demo was not
done using the gimmick. I'm all about giving the positive points of a trick (or anything you are
advertising) but not misleading the buyer.
I like Peter's thinking but this was bad and the
thing that upset me was the advertising and trailer he provided.

Wow.
I can't believe that the ad copy and demo got passed the common sense people and this is
being sold. I can't pinpoint the ad copy, as it would give away the gimmick and I am not about that.
But don't buy this. You will be highly disappointed.
NOT easy to do at all. Extremely
awkward at best.
I will have to say this. It is a decent idea to an idea that had been
already out there n a few forms that I have seen. Yes, I said forms.. Hard to explain.
And
good luck getting to the streaming video instructions.

Wow I was expecting much better from Peter, but this is garbage! The ad is a total lie, and I have
to say I would not be selling this. The gimmick is BBBBBBIGGGGGG and out in the open for all to
see!!!!!!!!!!!!
NO STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Penguin...you and another magic dealer who have shown great business sense and customer service for
years. In the past two months I have bought "the hype" from both your companies, buying two
different magic tricks ...both edited to look incredible, both claiming that each trick could do
things they can't so. Please understand that you are held to high standards because you are the
best. I will be sending Phantom back...but know that each time you do this you damage your
reputation. I expect excellent service from you. I will continue to be a customer because I trust
this will not happen again.

I rarely review products but truly felt cheated by this gimmick, the method, the false
advertisement, the semantics used to cheat people into buying it. The device broke two days after
using it. I cannot believe how dealers would back items such as this one. There has been an
onslaught of quick cash grab items in recent years. Thank You Penguin Magic for allowing Negative
reviews. I was really compelled to warn others about how impractical this really is.
ZERO
Stars.

This cost me a lot of money so I tried to be optimistic, but the truth is this just sucks. Listen to
the other reviews it's completely false advertising and the spectators will be suspicious of the
gimmick and if you get called on it you're done and believe me you will. It's my fault I should have
waited for reviews before I bought this.
This is total garbage. They lied. If you can
afford to lose money then buy this effect.

As other reviewers have noted, the "no elastics/no invisible thread" claims are, to be extremely
charitable, technically accurate in a nitpicky semantic sense, but highly misleading. As is the
trailer, from which you might not guess you need to hold the gimmick visibly (albeit concealed in an
ordinary object) mere inches from the effect you're producing —— effects you could get more
elegantly and reliably by other methods. Throwing this one in the drawer on the off chance I come
up with some use for it, but after fiddling with it for an hour with erratic results (again,
inferior to other methods even when it works) I can't say I expect to ever try this one in front of
other people. The gimmick is, indeed, somewhat ingenious. But so are Rube Goldberg devices——that
doesn't make them (or this) remotely practical.

Received the device yesterday. Had to go to a website and see the video instructions. I was not
able to download the video to folder to review again at my leisure. Very, Very disappointed in the
product(and price). The advertising was very misleading. Beware!!!

I wish I could give this 0 stars. False advertising and not even close to being practical. Worst
purchase on penguin.
