I have been performing "A Single Needle" by Wayne Houchin since it came out, but this project has
made me decide to go big or go home. I am in the process of writing a corporate show which packs
small and plays big. I think the needle swallowing routine fits the bill perfectly. Plus, it's
reusable! This means less expense/multiple purchases.
Thank you Dan for giving such a
great, comprehensive lesson on needle/razor blade swallowing.

You need a lot of patience to perform this effect, but it's totally worth it. I performed this trick
at a show recently and the reactions were amazing, big thank you penguin magic!!!!

I purchased this primarily out of curiosity to see how needle swallowing and razor blade eating is
done. Dan Harlan's instruction makes it perfectly clear how to prepare for and perform both of
these. This satisfied my curiosity and if I ever decide to perform either (or both) this easily
suffices as a good road map.

Finally! An excellent explanation of how to do this properly! I have known this for years watching
Penn and Teller, but could never come up with a safe(r) handling.
I haven't bought
anything magic wise in 10 years, but I had to know the handling.
IT IS STILL TRULY
DANGEROUS! Accidents are possible, but if you follow instructions to a T....they are minimized with
practice....but the risk is always there.
I'm sure anyone who performs this aren't happy to
have this straight up out there, but I for one....am super stoked to have finally known this <3
Explanations are thorough, as they should be for something like this.

Now this is a scary trick but the greatest thing is that you feel safe because the teaching is so
top notch it makes you feel comfortable to perform thank you for this dan

Okay, so I have thoughts about this. Theres the good and the bad. The bad? You only get 2.5 tricks.
You get a needle swallowing and razor blade swallowing trick. Also, you get a bonus trick that Dan
is working on. Its not yet solid, but it is a strong effect. I won't say it here, as it was listed
as a bonus on it. That being said, it is more of a way to see how needle swallowing can be
incorporated into more routines than simply swallowing needles.
The good: You get 2 solid,
fully explained routines. Dan takes everything into account. He walks you through the building, the
preparation, and the trick in staggering detail. He leaves no stone unturned, even telling you how
long it will take to prepare, and even the brands that he uses. The detail is fantastic, as always.
He also adds tips into this video which make it as safe as possible. Overall, I will be instantly
adding the needle swallowing into my act, and this may have been the most detail I have heard Dan go
into with any trick.
Why only 4 stars? It's a great video with great tips on needle swallowing.
However, I wish there would be more applications, and this is a fairly known method for performing
this. Other than a few great tips from Dan, nothing groundbreaking (IMHO).
Overall, fantastic
video, would recommend with reservations. If the idea of this grosses you out, or if you don't like
needles, don't bother buying!
Thank you Dan!

This is a great piece of work by Dan (again). While the information on needles and blades is
wonderful and complete should you want to do this, the real gold is the bonus routine. I can see
someone making this a fifteen-minute piece of comedy gold. It will take work and good writing, but
the "bones" are there for you.
Highly recommended.

Great introduction if you are interested in swallowing needles and threading them with your mouth.
Great lesson!
Tarbell is a reservoir of material and ideas, and it has been for many years. We have long needed
Tarbell's equal to bring that material into the visual age. Dan Harlan is that person. He brings not
only every trick in the book but also his nuances and interpretations to each trick in the book. Dan
goes beyond every trick in the book, and he makes material that one might be tempted to pass up in
print, highly entertaining and practical. Buy this and every installment in this series. It is one
of the best investments you will ever make.
