This review may be a bit long, but I implore you to read.
I have a stage show called under
the influence, all of the effects in my show deal with me using words and actions to influence
peoples choices. From my own take on Archers Blank Night too a 4 phase chair test. 90% of my show
can be done by going to office max.
Magic, what is it....is magic the trick that you buy?
The trick you buy is just a thing, an item. You get instructions that tell you to do this or that
and to say this or...that. That is not the magic, magic is what you leave in a persons mind, magic
is that coin appearing out of your ear as a kid. So with that, I bring you my review of this tiny
piece of weird.
a quarter....thats it...with just a quarter do you think you can
convince someone that you have power over suggestion or even precognition?
With this
effect you can, the application is simple the learning is basic. BUT you can fail at this effect,
not fail as in the effect does not work, oh it will work 100% of the time. Where you could fail is
in your patter ( script ) for the new magicians, the words you use as this (trick) is happening.
2 examples,
1 you can take the linking rings, a classic of magic, a magician goes
on stage and takes out 2 rings, he hits them and they link and he makes a move and they
unlink..tada...
2. you can take the linking rings, a classic of magic, a magician goes on
stage and takes out 2 rings, he procedes to tell you about harmonic waves, how everything is in
motion and if you try very hard you can cause solid to pass through solid, the rings link after he
hits them together to make them vibrate.
As a kid, I saw the second magician and for WEEKS,
Months I was hitting things together at my house to make them link...I was not looking for HOW it
was done as I knew it was HARMONIC waves....see I believed the magician and his claim of vibration.
so back to this effect, if you are a NEW magician you can do this trick, BUT you need to
really believe in it and understand what Rick says in the instructions. If you walk up and say " let
me show you a trick, then you have already failed as this is not a trick...of course it is, but the
auidence does not need to know this.
wow you like it so much why 4 stars. Well 5 stars are
so common and by putting 4 stars I influenced you to read this review...you see a lot of fives...but
then you see a 4 star and wonder why its only 4 stars..so you read.
you have been
influenced.
5 stars for this piece of weird.

Just to say I was lucky enough to receive an advance review copy and would have bought anyway. The
tutorial video is excellent as always and this trick will work with any coins and not just quarters
and you will just need to buy a pack of small cheap labels to perform trick. Already excited to
perform this and the 2 euro Irish coin with yellow label is perfect for this. OK OFF TO rewatch
tutorial and learn this trick plus the bonus one at the end.

Another gem by Rick Lax! I know I can always count on his magic to be something I am eager to use!
After you learn the patter for this you'll be using it all the time. I love magic that is
organic and easy to carry so when someone says, “Hey, show me something!”, I can do something quick
but impressive without having to set anything up. To me there is nothing worse than having people
know you do magic but not having anything on you that set up free and simple to produce.
I'll be adding this to my walk around collection and using it daily! Thanks Rick!

A real reputation maker! Wrap your personality around this effect and you're sure to convince your
spectators that you can actually mentally influence their actions. Spontaneous, strong and
convincing. Rick has come up with a true winner with Quarterly Report.

This is just sneakily brilliant. So simple to do, yet such a wonder for the spectators. Definitely a
cool opener. Would recommend. Plus Rick gives you a bonus trick too!
The only slight (and I
truly mean minimal) downside is that you can't repeat the trick for the same people. However, Rick
tells you how to get away with it and what to say so that the memory of the trick lasts with the
spectator. So it works out for the best.
Definitely a great trick!

This is a very unique approach on a pretty basic idea. The teaching on it was very thorough and
really had me understanding the effect Foley. This is not really a magic trick. Like Rick says it's
a psychological demonstration and it's perfect

The basic technique used in Quarterly Report is far from new. Max Maven had a whole DVD on the
subject, but no effect I've come across has excited me like this one. It is so simple and direct,
but can be very powerful in performance.
Rick's presentation is incredibly engaging and
thought-provoking. He could probably perform this in a TED Talk in front of psychologists and they
would buy it. That being said, certain aspects of the presentation don't fit my performing style,
but the routine is flexible.
Those new to performing may want to stray away, as the method
demands boldness. I can only speak on my own personal experience, and I will say that I would not
have had the guts to perform something like this when I was starting out.
All in all, it's
a simple and dynamic effect that packs incredibly small and leaves a lasting impression.

I LOVE this! I wish I could give it 6 stars.
Seriously. This is EXACTLY what makes magic fun
and entertaining.
Tremendously easy to do.
Rick Lax for president!

You just need a coin... and go inside someone's mind!
A clever effect, super simple to do, but
super impressive. You are always right... even on the left. Lenguage is not a problem in the
routine, i speak spanish and can do this naturally. Thanks for another non-magic trick Rick.

This is a fun short trick with a great prediction. The fact that people think that they may get
money brings them in and they are instantly interested.
I think this is a great starter
for other mentalism tricks and gets the ball rolling. It could be used as a stand alone, but I think
it is better suited to "that was amazing, now watch this!". I used it in conjunction with reverse
psychology (starting with quarterly report to draw people in) and it built on the amazement of me
being in their head. Also, both tricks pack super small and have a great impact.
I love
how simple this is and it couldn't be easier to carry. If you do mentalism in your act, this is a
great trick to have on board.
