This is an excellent party trick, however, I don't feel it would be practical for other performance
environments. This trick makes quite a mess because you are throwing confetti all around. Therefore
you can't do it table hopping or on the street( as it would litter the street, although some people
may not have a problem with that.) And while it is bigger than many card tricks I would not do this
on stage. The trick also takes up two pockets, which, as a working performer I know can be very
valuable. Finally, while this trick could be used in a parlor situation I can see someone doing
it(but that's just me).
Also, as for the method, it is good and fairly easy. I personally
did not like that they have to fold the card before turning it into confetti, so I was able to alter
it by just adding some simple card manipulation technics.
While this trick may not be for
me I can see how many people can absolutely love it. So, if you watch the trailer and know somewhere
you can perform this effect than add it to your cart.

...I mean come on...how is THIS trick getting THESE reviews?!?!
That's what I thought at
first.
Then I tried it out.
I really didn't expect to care about this trick. As
soon as I realized how much better it looks in person than in the video, I was sold.
I'm
not even a card guy.
I actually prefer mentalism.
But I have to say, this one really is a
winner. And even though I would have said otherwise just 12 hours ago...I have to eat crow and admit
a great ending when I see one.
I have a feeling this is going to be the what your
spectators will recall when telling their friends what the magician did.
If you're not
sure, just give it a chance. You'll be just as pleasantly surprised as I was once you practice it
just once, and see how great the end looks.

Its a magic effect you should always carry with you.Its easy to learn and it would have a big
effect towards the spectator. After doing this magic performance you would be able to do it in
seconds again. I recommend to all magicians have this effect. The Confetti Cards by Darryl Davis &
Daryl Williams (a.k.a. The Other Brothers)

The moment I learnt this effect, I fell in Love with it! 'Confetti Card' is simple, easy to learn &
Perform! I adore effects like this were you have two high impact effects blended together to make an
amazing piece. I will be performing this one as often as I can because of its simplicity & high
impact!

This effect involves basic skills used in other effects so the mastery is not difficult. A failed
prediction that becomes true hits home as the spectator realizes that the card pieces match their
selected card and plays well to my audiences. The instructions include pointers to maximize the Wow
factor with spectators.

The other brothers explain this trick very thoroughly and clearly. You can be doing this trick 5
minutes after you finish watching the video. You will notice that in performance Darryl has his hand
in a very unnatural position when he shows the card. This trick could've been workshopped for about
5 more minutes to avoid that, it took me less than that amount of time myself. I'm shocked that with
such big names involved on this trick they didn't. My only guess is that they wanted this trick to
be insanely easy for the biggest beginner and that is the easiest way to do it.
Let me
preface this next paragraph by saying that most of my performances are for parlor (audiences of
40-120). So when Rick Lax said this would be great for parlor, I was super excited.
Now in
every show I do, I do one or two card tricks. Things like the insurance policy Rick mentioned work
great. A card to impossible location or mentalism with cards also work fantastic. The issue with
this trick is that the magic happens on the floor or on the table with little tiny pieces.
Transmitting what happened over to a larger audience is very difficult and most of the "magic" will
get lost in translation unless you have a video camera that you are projecting onto the wall or a
screen, but if you're doing that you could do any close up trick as well.
That is not the
audience you want to perform this trick for. You want to perform this trick for a small crowd of
about 10-15 people. Maybe if you've been performing street magic and have drawn a crowd about that
size and want a trick which which screams BIG FINALE, then you should do this trick.
My
second issue is the price. This isn't quite a $15 trick. For $15 I would expect something a little
more mind-blowing. However, if you don't have a better closer to a set for a small crowd and this is
filling that need then by all means it is worth $15 and you will be very happy with your purchase.

I was taken in by the reviews... again. This seems like child's play to me. Something you'd learn
from a kids magic kit, or from a cracker jack prize. I think someone hypnotized a bunch of folks on
here... just plain cray-cray.

Hi buyers of Penguin Magic. I have been asked to review confetti card for you. Here goes -
The
trick is easy to perform but IMOH it is hard to sell the impact and reveal of what just happened. In
the trailer a card is picked then returned to the deck. You state that the card will
travel/transpose to your pocket. Where upon you reach into your pocket, reveal and show wrong card
with a sprinkle of confetti.
Looking fazed and dejected you tear up the wrong card and throw it
over your shoulders. In an instant the card turns to confetti has you walk away. When people inspect
the card on the ground, it has magically turned into the pieces of the chosen right card. It sounds
good if not great, but unfortunately the actual working and performance doesn't live up to what most
laypeople will experience.
Firstly you have to carry pieces of confetti in one of your pockets,
this could be an issue for most magicians where pocket space/management is an issue. Secondly the
reveal of the right card requires more pocket management in another pocket.
If you don't "point"
the reveal of the right card changing has it hits the ground, people will walk away thinking that
you screwed up and not notice the kicker ending. On a plus side the teaching is great and concise
and you will learn everything that you need to perform this in a matter of minutes. Perfecting a
workable performance will take much longer.
You could use this as a one of trick or a
finale to an overall performance piece at the end of the night. But here in the UK, you wouldn't be
able to perform this walk around due to leaving a mess of cards and confetti all over the floor when
performing.
Also you will need to carry your own refills every time you perform it, due to the
pieces landing anywhere.
I really wanted to like and give a top mark score , but unfortunately
it does have serious working performer issues and pocket management issues for a Pro/Semi Pro
worker. However if you're an hobbyist I mark it upto a 3.5-4 stars bearing in mind the above issues.

This is a different type of card trick, which is good. The trick is really simple to do, for the
great reactions it gets. Really comes down to your presentation and build up of the effect that
makes it the strongest. Video download is great quality and the teaching is pretty good and straight
forward. Nice job to The Other Brothers.
