You could use electronics. Or you could go low-tech at a fraction of the cost and not worry about
the electronics failing you. Both approaches have their merits. X-Ray, a low-tech way works and
won't require a second mortgage.
You get basically an Altoids tin with four white balls,
one black ball, a black velvet bag, a few gimmicks, and card to access the on-line instructions.
(Actually,to be precise, this effect uses three different gimmicks.) I had an excellent idea how
this was done from watching the video and reading "no electronics." Let's be honest. If you have
been around the mentalism block a few times, how could this possibly work without electronics? Yep,
that's exactly how it does. You'll either shriek with delight or disgust, depending, I think, on
how experienced you are when you open up the tin.
Anyway, I like it a lot for Kurutsuke
because it's almost self-working in the handling that Rasmus demonstrates. For which hand, it takes
a little practice to master the "reading," but it's doable, though less impressive.
Is
X-Ray worth the seemingly high cost for what you get? Probably. The one gimmick is handmade and
another actually has an expensive element, literally. The last one will cost you about $3.00 if you
need to replace it, but I don't see anything wearing out in my lifetime. If you want to do Kurutsuke
or just want a collection of good utilities for other effects, this is a nice purchase.

Great trick for truth or lie routine!
Can use one ball (black) or other balls (white) for the
trick. Great 5 min stage trick for a good price and I got it free as part of Penguin deal, but would
easily buy again!
Works great, good handling and even fools other magicians (it worked for
me)!
Seriously get! It's simple but well worth your money!!!
Enjoy!

Got the 2 things I was looking for...a which hand effect and a Kurotsuke effect and they are both
great! If someone is missing a white ball let me know, my package came with 5 white balls lol. This
effect is great and will last you a lifetime.

This is simple, effective and fun to do with a lot of possible bits and variations. Decent video.

Very good gimmick and video tutorial. But it's little bit overpriced

I got this effect and the first time I opened the box I was like, "How in the world I never thought
of this method?". Actually, I'm not that very much surprised but I'm happy I got it. A couple of
years ago I thought of something similar use for that gimmick, but never go beyond a "Which Hand"
effect. It's pretty surprising to see someone came up with this ingenious method.

QUALITY •
The quality is very good. The 5 balls (4 white & 1 black) included is very sturdy and
I doubt it will easily break even when you accidentally drop it. The velvet bag is also good and
would probably last for a long time. The case is not that special but it will be helpful to store
all the gimmicks and materials. Of course that's the purpose of it :)
The product ad is
true. It is 100% accurate BUT the accuracy might drop a bit depending on a few factors (I'll discuss
it later). It works without electronics. No noise issues. Works even you are surrounded. Easy setup
and easy reset; actually I think there's no need for a reset.
• ACCURACY •
The
accuracy of this gimmick depends on how you want to perform it and what item you wanted to find. I
tested this using the 5 balls included in the package and I always get 100% accuracy. While I'm
happy with the outcome using the 5 balls, I always wanted to use everyday item and, if possible, a
borrowed item from the spectators. I'm into mentalism for 3 years and what I'm most excited to
perform are those effect that don't necessarily uses items that came from me. It's like there's a
real impact when you borrowed something from them. Though I'm quite comfortable carrying the 5 balls
to get a 100% accurate reading, I still don't feel any big impact on my part though the people are
freakin' out.
Good news is Rasmus included some performance using a spectators borrowed
item, specifically coins and bills. By using their own item I believe it will mark a big
astonishment to them. BUT in exchange for this borrowed item the accuracy might drop just a little
bit depending on the item you borrowed. You also need to do a very slight move when using their own
paper bills. I live in the Philippines and we only have 4 different kinds of coins in circulation.
Unfortunately, I didn't always get a 100% accuracy maybe it's because of the kind of coins we have.
That's why I said that the accuracy will really depend on the items you want the spectator to use.
• GIMMICK •
The gimmick is, like what I said earlier, is ingenious. Maybe some of
you will be surprise and some will be disappointed. What I mean by disappointed is not because the
quality is poor (it is well made), but MAYBE because you are expecting something you didn't know or
something so mind blowing. I think it depends on how you look at the gimmick. Honestly, I am not
that mind blown when I saw the gimmick. A little bit disappointed because I am expecting something
new. But then I realize how Rasmus is a genius. He uses this seemingly ordinary gimmick for an
effect I am doing "psychologically" for years. And that's what I am most amazed at. Don't look at
the gimmick. Look at the effect it can make.
There might be some caveat when using the
gimmick. You might need to adjust it accordingly to your needs, but it's not that much adjustment.
You can easily also replace the gimmick in case you lost it. You probably have it in you
house.
• PROS •
No doubt, this is a great "which hand" effect. I am a fan of
Derren Brown and always looking for a way to do his coin in hand effect. I learned it using
psychological way, but in case you wanted to do it using a gimmick that will work most of the time
then this is for you. The price is worth the effect and the hardwork of Rasmus. It's just a little
investment for something so great.
• CONS •
None for now :)
Overall,
this product is really an innovation of the modern mentalism. When use properly you can really
pretend you can read their mind. Buy it now. You will appreciate it!

So when I opened the box i sighed. I did a lot of research on this product because my son really
wanted it. Ended up getting it because if he couldn't do it I would. My son has a bad history with
this kind of thing. But was able to actually do it and do it well. Also the gimmick is
customizable, You can easily by 1 part of the gimmick at any magic shop so if that one doesn't suit
you, you can always get another one. You probably already have that part of the gimmick anyways. In
conclusion, if you like the effect, get it, it's worth it.

While I agree this is no fail, that only applies to people who are far more sensitive than I. The
gimmick is very weak. He does however teach different methods which work far better but the one I
want to do, I can't. If the gimmick was stronger it would be excellent
