Paul Green performs the kind of magic that audiences love, and that you'll love performing. Paul was named "Lecturer of the Year" at the world famous Magic Castle in 2002 and additionally has been nominated by his peers at "The Castle" for Close Up Magician of the year two times. With years of experience and thousands of performances under his belt, Paul Green's magic is practical, powerful and memorable.

In The Trenches contains:

  • Jeopardy - This is considered to be one of the best presentations of the triple prediction. This effect literally UNFOLDS (prop included) and announces a series of card predictions that would make Alex Trebec?s head spin!
  • 2 Copper Silver - An eye-popping coin routine with the ever-popular 2 Copper Silver coin set (it also works with Silver, Copper, Brass). There are three distinct transpositions and it?s easy to do. Features Paul?s ?Pouch Switch? that elegantly ditches the gaffs and leaves you clean as a whistle.
  • KB/PG Sponge Balls - Inspired by Ken Brooke, this audience tested routine has everything from vanishes, transpositions, and changes ? all the way down to mini spongeballs!!
  • Mission Impossible - One of Paul?s most requested tricks as he becomes a spy and the secret documents (a signed playing card) appears in the most unusual place. ? A mini-briefcase!
  • Above, Beside, or Below - Coins across that really surprises your audience. Perfect for strolling venues as it?s all done in their hands.
  • Here, There, and Chicago Too - Combining the classic ?Here, There, and Everywhere? plot with the ?Chicago Opener?, this routine will fool your audience ? hard! Not as tough as you think.
  • Four On the Floor - With the help of J.C. Wagner, your audience will scream as they go through the twists and turns of this card revelation.
  • Coming Together - Based on Peter Samuelson?s ?New York Transpo,? this is Paul?s take on bringing two spectators together Anniversary Waltz style. Two separate signatures end up on the same card ? and it uses normal cards!
  • The Rope Routine - Fabulous, great, unbelievable handling for the Professor?s Nightmare. It will fool you even if you already do the routine.
  • Flying Eagles - A classic coin routine sprinkled with dynamic touches that make it a hard-hitting and striking piece of magical theater.

Jeopardy Is Worth the Price of this DVD Report this review

This is a good DVD. Some of the effects require props and gimmicked items that you buy extra. I like the basic content of the DVD, but some of it is just Paul's routine for already known effects (Chicago Opener, sponge balls, Copper/Silver, etc.). In that sense it doesn't break new ground. However, buy this for the Jeopardy effect. This is a great mind blowing routine. Audiences will go home trying to figure out how you did this. I watched it several times and still couldn't figure it out. Oh, and its EASY! No sleights, no fancy moves, no gimmicks, use any deck of cards...you will be performing it in 20 minutes after watching the DVD. This is the kind of effect you will use again and again.

I got this as a bonus item from penguin. The dvd explains Mr. Green's act. I recently saw the act in the Magic Castle and to be honest I wasn't very impressed. The best trick, in my opinion is Jeopardy. The material is not original and better versions of most tricks can be found elsewhere (books and dvds)better executed. It is not bad magic but I think you could spend your money better.

I did not like every effect on this DVD, but I will tell you the effect that is worth the whole DVD alone, Jeopardy.
In one effect you have a whole routine and you can switch up the patter and presentation anyway you would like. I have done this various times and spectators truly love it. If you perform at private parties and do little shows, I bleive there are many effects on here, you could put every effect on this DVD into a routine and have a whole 30 - 45 minute quality show.
Overall completely worth it and the teaching and quality were great.

Jeopardy is worth the price of the DVD Report this review

I got this DVD as part of a Penguin Promo, and it has not disappointed me. I wasn't expecting a lot since I had never heard of Paul Green, and the video style is a little drab, but other than that, the material is excellent. Jeopardy completely fooled me when I saw it initially, and only now have I discovered it's actually a take on a classic effect. Paul Green is a true worker, and it shows. If you're interested in improving your card magic, also check out his DVD on the classic force! It's a must-have.

I got this a few weeks ago. The tricks are very good, but the explanations on some tricks is poor. Above between and below, is the trick I bought this for. The explaintion for a newer learner is sadly lacking.

This is a great DVD with loads of material you WILL actually use. Jeopardy is an absolutely outstanding trick which I was able to learn in 5 minutes and went straight into my routine. I actually got this DVD at the last UK Convention off the Penguin Stand. Within a couple of minutes I ran straight into Paul Green himself! I pulled the the DVD out and asked him to sign it - when he saw that I'd just got it he actually gave me his HOME PHONE NUMBER in case I needed any help! Now THAT'S a great guy!

One of my new favorites! Report this review

I've been wanting this DVD for the past several years, and I finally got it while it was on sale. I bought the DVD and also got access to the DVD through MyPenguinMagic. So, I actually watched the whole thing before I even got the DVD in the mail. I would recommend getting the actual DVD because it comes with the prediction paper for the Jeopardy trick. If you get the DVD download, you won't get the paper. Although the paper isn't gimmicked, its nicely made and you won't have to make it yourself.

Paul is a great performer and teacher. It was a pleasure watching him perform in a few different settings like, The Magic Castle, in studio and what looked like a cocktail party. His explanations were also very well done. Although, I would NOT recommend this DVD to a beginner in magic. Simply because some of the sleights he teaches, he briefly goes over them, probably assuming you should know them already.

Obviously the best trick and the reason I've always wanted this DVD was the Jeopardy trick. Very easy to do and its something I will definitely perform as a closing effect, or if I were to do just one trick, this would be it. Other card tricks which I really liked were, Here, There, and Chicago Too and Coming Together.

The coin work was also good although I'm not much of a coin guy. I do want to note that for two of the coin tricks you need special coin props for them. If you're into coin magic you probably already own them. Flying Eagles and Above, Beside, Or Below were my favorites. And then he had a nice sponge ball routine and a great rope routine that combined two classic rope effects.

I give this DVD 5 stars and here are 5 reasons. 1, Watching and learning from a great performer. 2, A great teaching style that was right to the point, clear and understandable. 3, The Jeopardy routine. 4, Real world, practical material. And 5, if nothing else, just a great value and variety of material.

Thanks for reading.

The stand alone trick on this dvd is jeopardy. For the price of the dvd you get a lot of material. Not everything on here is going to be your number one trick but there are good tricks on here. I would buy it just for jeopardy. Jeopardy is very good and and very very easy to do. The dvd comes with the paper in the trailer. Overall i highly recommend it.

A Great DVD Report this review

This DVD has a lot of good stuff. There is a really good coin routine that you can use that is easy to do and will amaze your spectators. The best part of the whole DVD is the trick Jeopardy and is in my opinion worth the price of the DVD alone. What makes this trick so good is that a lot of it is completely controlled by the spectator. They determine how many cards are reversed. This is a really powerful mentalist trick. Buy this video and I'm sure you'll agree that it's well worth the money.
