"Suzanne has a kind of cool, sweet authority that assures and audience that they are in the hands of a real pro." - Teller

"Suzanne is a force of nature, and the definition of a working performer who has 'walked the walk.' If you are serious about the performance of magic in the real world, listen to this woman." - David Regal

"Suzanne is one of my favorites performers for lay audiences. I'd listen to anything she has to to say about magic.....carefully!" - Eric Jones

"Suzanne has the amazing ability to let her audience shine and become the star. This is something rarely seen in magic and is a departure from the "look at me" style magic that we so often see. This is something to study and understand but also to enjoyed." - Brent Braun

As one of the foremost performers in Restaurant Magic, Suzanne will share with you many tips and tricks on how to get the resident performing positions. She has advice to give that can only come after decades of experience. She will also teach you some of her favorite effects that have helped her achieve success in her career.

Don't miss this exclusive evening of opportunities and playfulness with Suzanne!

What will she teach?

Blank Ambition: Suzanne's ambitious card routine using double blank cards and ends with the entire deck becoming real.

Card to Pocket: Suzanne's interpretation of Card to pocket. So much fun your audience will love it.

I Wish This Was MY Card: A card effect that shows children the power of wishing and fries adults in the process.

Do You Trust Me: Suzanne playfully cheats her audience ending with two cards changing in the spectators hands.

Science is weird: Suzanne puts this effect it into a child's hands. Using only a dinner napkin and a couple of coins she shows why she thinks science is weird.

CamoCash: Using Richard Sander's Extreme Burn, Suzanne offers people an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of her new Multi Level Market Scam... aah... err... Venture.

Who is she?

Audiences all over the country have been falling in love with Suzanne since 1985.

Her engaging style makes the audience an essential participant in her performance. Other respected professional magicians have called her "flawless" and "amazing". She is a favorite at Hollywood's famous Magic Castle, and in 2010, became the only woman to have been nominated and awarded the title of "Close-Up Magician of the Year" by The Academy of Magical Arts. To date, she is still the only woman to have held that title. Most recently she is one of the few magicians able to fool Penn and Teller on CW's hit TV show "Penn & Teller: Fool Us".

She was featured on the cover of the Genii Magazine, the Society of Magician’s M.U.M. magazine, and the International Brotherhood of Magician Linking Ring magazines.

I watched this and was not really impressed.
Suzanne seems like a very nice and genuine person.
It was light on the magic and that is ok. But the theory was not life changing.
For restaurant magic, I would suggest Jim Sisti's Live Lecture or At the Table with Kostyra Kimlat.

Suzanne is deceptively clean. Because she knows her stuff really really well, she breaks down methods to the cleanest possible way to accomplish what she does. I've seen magicians do moves that look really iffy, and they explain it away by saying the spectators don't know what you did. That may be true, but they know you did something, they're just not sure what.
But the methods here are clean, and pretty easy to do, brilliantly simple, but very effective.

But in my opinion, Suzzane's greatest strength is audience management. She has the audience on her side from the first minute. I've seen her perform at the Magic Castle, and was really impressed by how easily she made her volunteers feel at ease, and engaged and have fun. Don't be fooled - it wasn't easy, it was carefully thought out and practiced and executed. Watch her more than once.
I'd happily pay twice for this kind of lecture.

Let me start by saying. I think she seems like a nice person. But as A Teacher "Horrible"! Was not smooth at all in showing techniques. Keep looking over to Dan for Names of moves ahe was doing. I sat through about 45mins of this borning corny act...and could take it anymore. This was my first time buying a "Live Act". I'll be sure to look before i leap next time. Like i said nice person Horrible teach. All over the place when explaining her act. Do ur self a favor....Buy something esle. Sorry Suzanne...

I loved watching Suzanne's lecture. She is a breath of fresh air with solid, real world magic that is totally workable. Her manner is lovely, warm and friendly and she is so funny! I really enjoyed hearing some of her life story and anecdotes towards the end of the lecture. She is one inspiring and brilliant magician. I now have to get more of Suzanne's material. She's got a new fan in me.

I've been a fan of Suzanne's since seeing her for the first time on Youtube. Her material is well thought out, her handlings are flawless, and her presentations are definitely original. This is one I'll go back to more than just a few times.

I agree that it was quite apparent that she had to lean on Dan for some things that maybe she should have known, but that was a minor issue to me. A true working pro, and I hope to one day meet her.

Suzanne won the Close-Up Magician of the Year award at the Magic Castle a few years ago and she's opening the doors to her thinking process here. Why wouldn't you watch this if you want to be a better magician? Suzanne presents solid, time-tested magic that she performs for real audiences every day, and she gives a ton of advice on how to book and keep restaurant gigs.Thumbs way up.

As a member of the Magic Castle now called the AMA I have the great pleasure of watching Suzanne perform as well attend workshops, not to mention the super task of Fooling Penn and Teller. She worked very hard and had to modify. Teller went exactly after what he thought and she blew him away. Getting hired at The Magic Castle is not easy at all. You must be good. It is a long week and Suzanne is flawless and has a style when performing or teaching where she connects with any audience member as well as communicating and getting to know here audience. The approach is brilliant, by breaking curtain and looking shocked seeing an audience and people walking in. She talks and chats and learns her audience which is vital. It is brilliant. The lecture was full of valuable notes. Thanks for such a fine lecture.

Fantastic Stuff Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on August 24th, 2016
Sometimes I get a Penguin lecture and put it up on my computer and listen while I'm working on other things.

I tried doing that with this lecture and found myself continually having to stop what I was doing and give it my undivided attention.

It's a little light on tricks, but to be honest I wish more lectures were like that. You can open any half decent magic book written in the last 130 years and you'll have more than enough tricks to last you a lifetime.

What magicians need to focus on is how to take the tricks they know (or throw out some :) ) and put them together and do them in a way that is deceptive or entertaining.

That being said, this is one of my favorite lectures and the interview and stories are fascinating. Some of her touches on working with kids are great!

For the more technical side this lecture has some good cups & balls moves, cool deck switches and more.

I highly recommend this lecture!

Practical, Polished Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on August 21st, 2016
Suzanne is a savvy, practical magician with decades of experience doing restaurants magic. The routines she teaches are original, highly polished, and have proven their worth in thousands of performances.

Suzanne's teaching of sleights is especially helpful. For instance, there's a move in the Dai Vernon Cups and Balls where the balls are batted under the cups with the finger tips. Gannon's booklet on the Vernon routine does a poor job of explaining this sleight, but Suzanne makes it all clear in about two minutes. As another example, she shows how to palm a card and convey it to your pocket, even though your hand is small and the card is peeking out the side.

Suzanne's advice about the business of restaurant magic is at once shrewd and ethical. She explains how to convince a restaurant manager to hire you, how to establish a relationship with servers, how to handle hecklers and children. Regarding the last point, some of the videotaped performances in her lecture are with a child spectator who is sweet and difficult at the same time.

I learned a huge amount from this lecture and intend to watch it again to soak up everything. I just wish Suzanne would teach us her famous band-aid trick, which she used to fool Penn and Teller. Five stars!
