A brief review of the promo video : I agree with Jay's take on "beginners magic." I was searching
for a simplified version of a billet in a lemon and stumbled upon just what I wanted in the most
remedial book imaginable.
I missed the dvd in the cool box so I'll wait and pay the full
price. I have a copy edit; the dictionary lists several correct spellings, but the magazine I read
is named "Genii." Maybe the video editor got too close to the magic lantern? If you've never seen it
order a back issue from Penguin. It's been around for 75 years and is all about the love of magic.
The entire library is available online for subscribers and every magician I've ever known refers to
it constantly.

Very easy to perform with many impromtu effects that leave people dumbstruck. Some tricks involve
just borrowing any paper or pen and tearing the paper into three pieces. As simple as that... and it
leaves people dumbstruck. many of this tricks are used in my routine due to the ease and little
preparation of some of the tricks. When used with the electric touch sold on penguin (which I also
highly recommend), you will get screams from your spectators.
The simplicity of these
effects are what gives this effects their magic.

A great value! You get 14 tricks and 2 bonus tricks for a total of 16 tricks and most of them are
top notch. "Penny Ante" uses 10 borrowed pennies placed date side down and you predict the year of
the penny selected by a participant. "Stop Sign" is where you go through business cards and when
you are told to stop, only that card has on the bottom "Stop Me Here."
"10,000 Words" is a new
way to perform a mental book effect using 3 selected cards and a dice by the participant to go to a
page and word in a book and you know the word.... JUST FANASTIC! "Invisible Coins" actually uses
invisible coins and your participant chooses the coin and if it is heads or tails up, and you pull
out your slip of paper from an envelope with the correct prediction. These are just a couple of the
mental miracles that Jay performs. If you want to get into mentalism... then I would suggest you
BUY!

This DVD is really pretty good, even though it is mostly for beginners. "Stop Sign", "Penny Ante",
and "Heartbeat" are some of my favorites. If you combine this DVD with 22 Blows to the Head, your
specs will begin to cower in the corner and suck their thumbs after a few of these Psychic tricks...

most of these effects are very, VERY basic; sure anyone can do them, but many laymen also know them
already. If you are a 12-year old performing for your friends you'll astound them with all of the
tricks in the dvd; if you have an adult audience, you'll want to select your effects carefully, or
will want to add layers to disguise the original method. However, there's a lot of value here in the
recommendations Sankey gives about the handling and the psychology behind the tricks; that is
valuable material even if you already know the tricks.
In any case, the dvd is worth more
than its cost for just ONE of the tricks - which is not exactly a trick by a utility device,
Omnilope. Omnilope is a fantastic device you'll use in a huge variety of situations. And, yes,
Omnilope is also published sold separately for $25, while here it is one of the TWELVE effects
included in this $20 dvd. You do the math...
Sankey is known for producing some really weird and cool stuff. He goes into pretty good detail when
explaining the material which is a bonus. I found for myself that there were only a few things that
I actually used from this DVD, but I guess that is to be expected. We all have our own preferences.
This DVD is better for beginners as apposed to more experience magicians so keep that in mind before
buying.
I have been into magic for awhile, but only recently have I started getting into mentalism. I am
happy I bought this DVD. Its is filled with stuff that's perfect for the beginning mentalist. Add to

This is a nice DVD, not the best Jay has made, but certainly up there. I give it a four, because the
only reason I wanted it is in the Demo Video, it shows him running through a phone booth. I thought
you would learn it, but you don't.
This is a pretty good DVD. Jay Sankey introduces the beginner to the world of mentalism. Don't let
the fact that these effects are easy fool you. They may be easy, but they are strong effects. Some
of my favorites are Stop Sign, Psychic's Choice, Penny Ante, The Yogi's Secret, Uprising and Spirit
Writing. I recommend this if you are a beginner.
This is a pretty good DVD. Like the last review said if you combine this with "22 Blows", you'll be
set. There are some good effects on this DVD. My favorites are Psychic's Choice, Uprising, Yogi's
Secret, Spirit Writing and Stop Sign. If you are starting out in mentalism, pick up this DVD. You
won't be disappointed!
