This is just a quick review - The box is great. The small accessory that comes with it is CHEAP and garbage. This would have been much better if they had a custom made accessory with the small gimmick installing properly instead of just with some cheap blue tac. Sorry but this ruined it for me. When you are paying this amount of money you expect that the whole product is quality.

I made my order ever since it published for pre-order, I did not think twice simpliy because everyone was saying that this is going to be the trick of 2017, and I believed it. What a LET DOWN!! I have to admmited that the concept behind is absolutly amazing, however, foe this kind of effect, this routine is just TOO COMPLICATED! The box does not do all the work for you, you need three gimmick stuffs with you to perform this effect, gimmicked deck, gimmicked box and a [edited], how complicated is that!? It's definatly not for carry around. Quality of the box is just ok, does not always work properly, quality of the gimmicked [edited] can not be worse. 3 stars just for the concept.
Consider thr routine and quality of the gimmick, NOT WORTH IT!!

The gift is more than a routine, it's a utility device to perform incredible miracles. This is the greatest card trick I now own and perform. The previous greatest was "Return Flight" by Rick Lax, which I also highly recommend. (For gimmicked tricks, I love "Little Door", "Under Wraps", "cheek-to-cheek", "Ace", etc. but this is a level above miracle - one card, selected openly by the spectator, is predicted under what appears to be very normal conditions.)

I performed the routine shown in the video about a dozen times so far and the reactions are phenomenal. Where else can you reveal a PRE-WRITTEN boxed prediction for a freely chosen card? That's right the prediction is already in the box.

Everything is provided to perform the same exact routine in the video and it requires very little physical skill and mostly presentation and a little boldness. (Although, it might take a little practice to consistently hit the "sweet spots" - if you buy this, you'll know what I mean).

The video instructions included are fantastic - clear, comprehensive, very useful. There is one routine where one half of a letter is given to a spectator and the other half with the prediction is in the box. I haven't performed it, but hopefully will soon (it requires some one-time prep). It's absolutely genius and takes the trick to the next level, closing the door on any rational explanation.

The Gift is absolutely incredible, except for the price, which I think is a little expense for what you get. Don't get me wrong, what you get is great and you couldn't easily create yourself (the time involved, IMO would cost more than buying the product), but I don't think the less than premium material quality of the product warrants a high premium price, except to deter curious secret seekers. Another more serious quality issue, is that certain components within the box did not line up 100% flat and flush (even before there is something raising them). For the price of this box, there is no excuse for that all. Big price (and I bought the $99 limited edition), should equal big quality. Thankfully this workmanship issue is somewhat obfuscated by the overall design of the box. Is the box examinable? IMO, not for more than a brief period of time, as the spectator might bend or rip something in the box while even casually moving their fingers around. That’s aside from the fact that visually, things did not line up 100% in my box. If my box was created with just a little more love and precision, "The Gift" would be more spectator-proof and worth what I paid for it. For "The Gift" manufacturer - Take a look at “Sharpie Through Card” (although not examinable) -- perfecto workmanship. Hopefully, my quality issues are not pervasive with all boxes.

I will add one caveat with the shown routine, about half the time when the spectator deals the cards the selected card won't be 100% freely chosen. Meaning, the next face down card might need to be the selected card. I did have someone confront me and say that the last card they stopped on was their chosen card, not the next face-down card. In that instance, my patter was that we both know the all face-up cards, what's even more amazing is what we don't know...which is "this" face down card. And then I reiterate they could have stopped before the face down card, and I show the face cards after it -- they could have stopped anywhere so it didn't really matter anyway. Any other suggestions for how to handle this?

Even with the stated issues, this is a unique, easy miracle. A little pricey, but if you can, give yourself the greatest gift buy buying "The Gift", you shouldn’t be disappointed.

I really wanted this product to measure up to all of the hype and it almost does with the exception of it being inconsistent at least for me after much spent trying to achieve reliable function. I never overcame the issues/remedies mentioned in the instructional video.

I should’ve listen to the previous reviews. Like others, it’s a great idea but poorly executed. The box malfunctions on every attempt. I feel stupid for spending this kind of money. So listen to your peers everybody, spend your money as you see fit. No refunds, no exchanges

Angelo Carbone is a genius. I love this box. You can do whatever you want to predict anything. Just use your imagination. You can use it as a mentalist as well. Your imagination is the limit. I have some tricks from Angelo, I like the way he thinks. This is amazing. I am not agree with those who are complaining about the part that you need to wear... it is part of the trick. I don't believe it is cheap. I am sure that you will read more review talking about this amazing product.

Its a brilliant Idea ..and will fool most people. However
My did not work when it arrived and my deck of cards were packed wrong. I was really pissed . This is why I buy from THE PENGUIN ... Two words CUSTOMER SERVICE ! Eric got in touch W/ Me to offer advice and or refund or exchange. We fixed the Box and re-stacked the deck. It mechanically worked the other gimmick that came with it was hard to engage the moving parts. I purchased a better device to accomplish this and still have not been able to get it to engage correctly in my hands. Its too bad, I really like the trick I just cant perform it. Now there are plenty of guys that can , this will take me a huge amount of time to Master it. Note: It took me 2 years of practice to perfect the ITR and I broke that within 20 minutes of bringing it home. The ITR was worth the work. I would not use this in my "Table Hopping" , I work out of 2 pockets ( Left and Right ...two sets of magic") and would not fit into my jacket. My other Gripe is No DVD , I would have paid more , However it can be Downloaded.

Very disappointed after so many rave reviews. As with some other reviewers mine arrived with repair instructions included. I'm an experienced performer -- prepared to work an effect hard and not looking for something to put in a show tomorrow right out of the box. But I do expect the materials to work out of the box. I'm slowly working on the repair instructions, so far with results spotty enough to lower confidence in the gimmick to a point where I know I will hesitate to use it. Penguin, you should replace these with ones that demonstrably work. Otherwise you are just a pass through for a defective product. You are better than that.

I'm torn about leaving a great review because I don't want a bunch of other magicians out there performing this one, but I gotta give props where they're deserved! Best trick I've purchased in a long time! The reactions I've been getting are priceless. This will cause your spectator to lose some sleep trying to figure out how the heck you did that! Great for fooling other magicians as well! Best part of all is that what is an ingenious method makes for a super easy performance!

There is many more uses for this effect than cards. In the box you could have different objects and have someone choose the object to put in there pocket, to sit on another object and to hold an object. You then show them the paper that states where each object is. great concept
