Man, this HAS to be the best deal in card manipulation. I love this stuff, and your cards will too.

Basically, they aren't lying in the advertisement. Sprinkle a little bit of this stuff on your cards (in a well ventilated area) and they will fan AMAZINGLY (either straight outta the box or an old, worn out deck).

However, I should point out that this is NOT a substitute for bad care being taken of cards. If you throw your cards on the ground and bend them and tear them, this stuff will not help them. Nothing will.

However, if you are looking for some amazingly smooth fans or cards that glide really well, look no further than this big supply of powder for less than three dollars. For the price, this is phenomenal. Pick some up today!

I purchased this powder to bring back some old vintage playing cards I had in my collection. They fanned in clumps and were very difficult to deal, as they they were sticking to one another quite badly.

There are various videos you can watch on the internet showing how to use this powder. All of the ones I've viewed, however, pretty much show you how to WASTE this powder. My point is, a little goes a long way!

I laid out 10 cards at a time, face down, on a large sheet of clean cardboard and used a small wad of gauze as an applicator. I sprinkled a tiny bit of this powder onto the center of each card back and then used the gauze to carefully spread the powders across the entire surface in very light (I applied virtually no pressure) side-to-side and circular buffing motions. By the time I got to the tenth card I noticed that the gauze was holding a fair amount of powder and there were visible traces of white on the surface of the cardboard. I then slid the cards around (still face down) across this thin trace of 'leftover' powder residue on the cardboard. That was it! I did the entire deck that way, ten or so cards at a time, applying to one side only (the backs) and then sliding the cards around a bit to get the faces.

When I was finished all of the decks I treated in this fashion behaved like brand new decks of quality playing cards; they fan beautifully and do not not stick at all!

I am very pleased with this purchase!

This Powder Works Report this review

I read online info about fanning powders and found talc powder uses the same product ingredient...so I used that product with mixed results and too much with poor results. I bought and tried fanning powder (small amount just a few sprinkles over the entire spread out deck)...now the cards fan out really nice and are improving with more practice. If not for using talc the first time I wouldn't have made the comparison and not have been sure it was the powder or just lots of practice made better...this was the powder alone that made the difference.

I purchased the fanning powder to get a set of blue bicycle cards back in shape after reading good reviews on the product. I wasn't disappointed with the product. It takes some time to use it the right way, but in the end it made the cards feel better than brand new. Being that I am relatively new to card magic I really appreciate having the cards all feel & slide consistently using equal force.

After applying to the deck, I shuffled and fanned the cards several times to get the excess powder off of them. I then gently wiped each card down with paper towels. Perfect!

If your fans are starting to stick and clump together, a little of this powder will breath new life into them. It does change the feel of the deck though. This powder is rumored to cause respiratory irritation so do this outdoors and inside of a bag.

Does the trick ! Report this review

If you're into card manipulation, you should really get this. Some of the coolest looking decks just don't fan like a regular bicycle deck does. I must admit I didn't think it would work as well as it actually did. A very small amount of that stuff, worked into what was till then considered a lost deck, simply did the trick.

Fanning powder is a nice quick fix, but it is not some kind of miracle powder that will make your fans perfect, a good amount of skill is still required. I have found that if you drop your cards on a table or on the ground for your manipulations it will pick up dirt and dust rather quickly and lessen the effectiveness of the powder in no time. I will say that you get we'll enough powder for what you pay. The price on this item for the quantity is very good.

Great Stuff Report this review

At first, I didn't think this stuff worked...I was expecting old cards to be restored to that new, slippery feel, but I was not catching on to the fact that it's made to allow cards to fan out, without sticking together, not necessarily feel real slick (at least for me) ....which it does accomplish very nicely.
