This lesson was a fun one. I don't think anyone will be putting all the routines into work as
presented; however, you would never do with any magic book/lecture/etc.
Dan's teaching as
always on the point and he delivers clear direct instruction with a dash of humor and a light heart.
McLemore's "Stop-Go" is a hidden gem in this chapter. All though not really magic it is magical.
Crandall's Cup and Balls is a nice after dinner piece, which if learned and practiced can be
assembled at a moment's notice in most kitchens. It's perfect to have in your back pocket for just
the right moment but at the same time, it could be put into a formal show. Tarbell's "Flower Pots
and Oranges" also uses an interesting idea with the final load which can and should be applied to
other routines.
Overall, this lesson has a mix of unique magic and mixed methods worthy of
study by any serious magic student.

Harlan's care to this project will be enjoyed for many years to come. Labor of Love :)

I’m not sure why there have been lower ratings. I think much of what was presented is useable and at
least useful to know. Even the silly wizard affectation still led to showing many good methods.

Decent chapter. The "chop cup" routine is the gem of this lesson

This starts off Volume 6 of the book, including some tricks invented after the correspondence course
was finished. The tricks in this lesson are gimmicky and not in common use. Some of them involve
unnatural movements that I think even laypeople will find odd. They are still designed for the
stage, so if you want audio deception, you'll have to add in your own methods. Some are more "food
for thought" in their unusual methods rather than good tricks.
My favorite was the Stop-Go
trick, and Dan gives very detailed advice on it.

Interesting, although one effect won't be done by most because of the gimmick involved, but the rest
are pure gold. These are effects that can really add something different to your show there is one
for every kind of venue.

Great updates to the material and love the stand up versions to the cups and balls. These will play
great for larger audiences
Dan always puts a new spin on the old. I'm sure some will say that the effects here are old school
and have no place in modern magic, but I think Dan teaches you how to put new presentations on the
old. I always learn something when watching his Tarbell courses. Loved the idea for Stop and Go and
the grapes and cup routine was something everyone should have in their back pocket. Pun intended.
