I have many of Jay's tricks, and really love his stuff. And after I saw the demo for this trick,
Jay's performance really sells it (of course). BUT, this trick was very disappointing when I began
performing it. The handling can be awkward and revealing, and the penny on the matchbook is not
well made. - This is disappointing since most of Jay's gimmicks are primo stuff. The penny doesn't
look real at all, and doesn't seem to fool anyone - at least not in the conditions I've performed it
in. You would need really low light to make it work I think.
It's a good concept, but
considering the problems mentioned above, it's definitely not worth the money.

I'm sorry, but I don't know what these other reviews see out of this trick. I personally think the
gimmik looks horribly fake. There's one thing about this trick that I think nobody can argue aginst
me about though. The price too high by about 7 or 8 bucks. One other thing I would like to mention.
The discussion boards have a poll in them and 66% or something like that say that they think this
trick stinks.
DONT BUY IT!!!!!

This was very disappointing, especially from the genius mind of Jay Sankey. The idea is really cool,
but the translation of the idea into what you get here just doesn't fly. The matchbook coin
illustrations don't look all that real. For something like this where the effect is a feat of
impossibility that is a really important fact. I wanted to like this but just couldn't do it. This
went into my drawer of magical mistakes.

There’s no video or any explanation of how this gimmick was intended to be performed, and the
quality of the gimmick is poor enough that it would be embarrassing to allow examination. Usually
with 3d objects printed on paper you want to move fast because the illusion falls apart upon
extended viewing, even when the gimmick is relatively high quality, which this is not.
If
you show people a penny and a match book and then claim to have melded them together you can’t just
flash the impossible object at them and run off, they will want to hold it and examine it- just
beware, because when you do they WILL pity you for agreeing to the inspection.
I tried
googling to find the original video demonstration of this effect and found that Sankey has used the
MetaMorph name for an entirely different effect now, a bill swap that would almost certainly have to
be better than this. It’s the equivalent of your parents giving your younger sibling the same name
as you, because you were too disappointing to be allowed to carry the name uncontested. Sankey’s
mind has created a seemingly endless pile of sometimes great stuff, and sometimes it’s just janky as
hell. File this one firmly in the latter column… but if you find yourself in need of starting a
fire, you could do worse than picking this thing up in the Penny Arcade as a cheap book of matches.
Just do the world a favor and never, ever perform it for other human beings.

This seems like a good trick but people aren't usually impressed with this one. I find that the
revelation of the penny stuck to the match packet really disappointing. Don't buy this expecting to
freak people out. Might work on little kids but not adults.
