WATCH DEMO #2 FOR AN INTERACTIVE DEMONSTRATION

"Fooled me BADLY" -Paul Brook

"The structure Manos has created for Vox 2.0 makes the logic puzzle element that is so often obvious and transparent, almost invisible!" - Ken Dyne

"Manos Kartsakis has come up with the most elegant, direct and easy to follow propless which hand effect I have seen, for me my audience's ability to follow along easily is really important, Velvet achieves this unlike any other. I have already started using this and will continue to do so."- Marc Spelmann

"I think Manos is a guy that is going to have a big name in Mentalism soon. This work is a very clever twist on the "which hand" principle that uses no gaffs or electronic, this is how mentalism should be!" - Luca Volpe

MindFX is very proud to introduce you to the newly updated and expanded work of Manos Kartsakis.

Manos Kartsakis is one of Europe's finest underground creators who, up until now, has only shared his work with a very select few. In this, his very first commercial release for the mentalism community Manos will be sharing some of his most closely guarded routines based upon the 'Which Hand' plot.

Fans of Mark Elsdon's 'Tequila Hustler' are sure to marvel over the new approaches that Manos offers, each of these utilising different methodology (with zero gimmicks required) to create the following effects -

Veritas (Only ONE question asked) -

The performer hands the spectator a small object. Whilst placing their hands behind their back, the spectator is instructed to hide the object in either hand. Despite being able to lie or tell the truth to any question, the mentalist is able to discern the location of the object with 100% accuracy.

Vox (A ZERO question approach) -

The performer hands the spectator a small object. Whilst placing their hands behind their back, the spectator is instructed to hide the object in either hand. This time no questions are asked at all. The spectator is instructed to say nothing out loud. This is a game that is played only in the spectator’s mind. With zero questions asked, the mentalist is able to discern the location of the object with 100% accuracy.

*NEW* Vox 2.0 (A ZERO question approach) -

The performer, asks a spectator to hide something in one of their hands. After the spectator has done that, the performer asks him to either concentrate on the hand that has the object or the empty hand. No matter which hand the spectator is concentrating on, the performer is able to tell him exactly where the object is hidden.

Verbalist (A super clean TWO spectator version) -

The performer instructs two spectators that one of them is to hide a small object in one of their hands while his back is turned. The spectators are also instructed to decide which one of them is going to play the role of the truth teller and which one is going to play the role of the liar.

All this happens secretly and the performer has no knowledge of any of this when he turns around to face the spectators. With three innocent questions, the performer is able to determine the exact location of the object, as well as determining which roles (liar/truth teller) each of the spectators are playing.

*NEW* Verbalist 2.0 (A super clean TWO spectator version) -

This is a variation of the above effect, however, this time only two innocent questions are required to determine both the location of the object and the roles of each spectator.

Vice Versa (A multi-phased routine which is ideal for stage and cabaret) -

A bonus stage routine which uses the entire audience and culminates with several powerful reveals!

*NEW* Velvet (An incredible demonstration of influence) -

The performer removes from his pocket, an envelope which he sets on the table in full view. He proceeds by showing a chess pawn to the spectator, explaining that in his opinion, this object encapsulates perfectly, the idea of suggestion and influence.

He then gives the pawn to the spectator and asks him to make a series of choices (place it in either hand behind his back and then switch it between his hands or not). When the spectator is done and the pawn is secretly hidden in one of his hands, the performer opens the envelope and removes a prediction which describes exactly what choices the spectator has made and the exact location of the pawn.

PLUS...

*NEW* Memento (A bonus routine available direct from the author) -

Within this book/ebook, you will discover the direct contact details for Manos Kartsakis. Those who purchase this product can email him directly to receive an eleven-page bonus which details the inside work on the following routine -

The performer tells the spectators that he is going to test how good their intuition is. He then asks a few spectators to give him some male names (8-10 names) which he writes on some blank index cards and places them face down on the table.

After that, one spectator is asked to secretly concentrate on one of the names (without revealing which) and another is asked to intuit which card has that name written on it.

The performer introduces a pocket watch which belonged to his grandfather and gives it to the second spectator to use as a pendulum in order to get rid of all the cards until he is left with only one. When only one card is left on the table the performer asks the spectator who is concentrating on a name to say for the first time out loud what name he is thinking.

The card is turned over to reveal that it is actually the correct name. The performer allows some time for this moment to sink in and then as a kicker he mentions that this was actually his grandfather’s name and opens the pocket watch to reveal the same name engraved in the watch!

This download contains quite a few tricks all based on a similar principle. Unfortunately for me, almost all of the people I have tried it on here in Australia are extremely familiar with the technique used...maybe it is a regional thing, but I am finding that the average person already knows this effect.

Great Stuff! Report this review

This is an excellent read and very usable material. After picking up Rock Paper Lies, by Jay Di Biase, I started searching for more routines that used a similar methodology. Jay actually recommended this book to me and so I picked it up from Michael Murray. I must say, this is really good stuff. These are all very practical and easy to follow. Manos even details which effects he uses the most and why. I found, after reading through and trying many of these myself that I had the same favorites as him.

The methods also vary throughout, even while still using the same principles. There is even one routine that does not rely on the spectator to say a word, at all. Yet you are still able to tell them exactly which hand. Also, there are routines that can use multiple spectators and even one for stage that involves the entire audience with a killer prediction ending.

Manos is also a very nice guy and super helpful. I reached out to him and spoke with him a few times after purchasing the book and he gave me lots of helpful advice.

I was skeptical at first about getting a book entirely of "which hand" effects, but I am glad I did. Do not hesitate to pick this up, as you will not regret it.

Verbalist 2.0 is Stunning Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on July 18th, 2017
I'm not a mentalist but enjoy these "propless mentalism" effects. They're a lot of fun for spectators and can be done completely impromptu. Manos Karsakis' Verbalist 2.0 in this book is the strongest effect of this type I have seen. Two spectators are given a coin or other small object. While the magician's back is turned, one spectator hides the coin in one hand, and both spectators then put their hands behind their backs. The spectators also decide which one will be the "liar" and which will be the "truth-teller." The magician then turns around, asks each spectator the same simple non-suspicious question, and then instantly reveals the location of the coin. When I first read the description of the effect I thought it must be leaving something out or must involve a hidden gimmick. These two questions could not possibly reveal the location of the coin. But I swear, this is really how the effect works. Two really innocent questions are all that is needed for this miracle. It is easy to do and stunning. It does not look like a "logic puzzle" at all. I think this single trick alone is worth the price of the downloadable book. I will be using Verbalist 2.0 for impromptu and walk-around. I also recommend Andante, another download available on Penguin. Whereas Verbalist 2.0 is designed for two spectators, Andante is designed for more than that -- I typically do it when I have five spectators.

Great addition to the which hand plot. Report this review

I'm a fan of the which hand plot and propless mentalism. I have Tequila Hustler and Rock, Paper, Lies BUT V2 may be the best of the lot. It advances the plot in some new ways and further disguises the methods. A great purchase for those wanting to learn for the first time or those who want to further study this plot.

Good, but has some issues Report this review

This is a very clever manuscript. Devious ideas that actually work as planned.

But, as with many effects, predicting which hand holds the coin could be simple luck.

So, you need to put this with other effects to help enforce the idea that it's NOT luck.

And, I don't think it's realistic to do SEVERAL of the methods from this manuscript, since you'd be changing the "playing field" everytime which would probably be suspicious.

But, for a effect buried amoung other effects, this is great! And, it's also a nice item to have in mind for impromptu.

Well worth the price.

The best effects in this booklet are those combine other well-known principles of mentalism with the l---c p-----s inherent to non-gimmicked "which hand" effects. "Vice Versa," "Verbalist 2.0," and to a slightly lesser extent "Velvet" are standouts in this regard, precisely because they use a combination of subtleties to minimize the "logic" aspects of the routine. Other effects are more logic forward, and are comparable to Mark Elsdon's "Tequila Hustler." In many cases, Karsakis opts to give the spectator instructions (put the coin here) rather than ask questions (is the coin here?) as in Elsdon's method. Whether this is a superior approach is more a matter of style than substance. The only dubious effect is the original "Verbalist" routine, which risks a scenario wherein the participant can out himself as a liar "too soon." Fortunately, the revised "Verbalist 2.0" obviates this problem, and is a personal favorite. If you are relatively new to "which hand" effects, this is probably the most cost-effective entry to the subject now offered on Penguin. Performers already familiar with the work of Banachek, Elsdon, Brookings, and Elizalde (all cited within) will no doubt find less novelty, but might still find themselves pleased with the presentational ploys of "Vice Versa," "Verbalist 2.0," and "Velvet."

Well written. I understood the effects without having to reread constantly. I even took one of the methods out on a field test. I was correct 5/5 times. With great reactions

Glad Manos Doesn't Charge By The Page Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on August 1st, 2017
80 pages long download! Very thoroughly written and various alternative methods discussed. What is so enlightening is that Manos does a deep dive on the psychological aspects of the techniques. Very flexible as to presentation type: magic, mindreading, prediction, gambling, etc. Well worth the $$.
