For those who do mentalism and who've done something similar to this in the past, here are a few points worth noting. First of all you reveal 2 things about the person; both their birth month and date. Often in these effects you only reveal one piece of information. Secondly, the astrology calendar is a well thought out and really nicely produced. It looks very normal, just like someone might hand you on the street or leave on your windshield. It doesn't draw any attention, which is great.

There are two methods taught. Neither is hard, though the second does require a little memory skill, but nothing difficult. I actually prefer the second method because I feel I could perform this effect completely hands off.

As always, Rick does a great job teaching. He keeps things simple, yet covers subtleties and more than one way to perform it. This will take no practice at all to learn and perform. But as in any effect, you'll want to take some time to develop your patter and make it your own.

Rick has done a fine job of disguising how to "guess" the month and day of a spectator's birth. Great design — kudos to Bridget – and to Rick. Here's a hint: As soon as you get the two "flyers" go to Staples or FedEx and get them laminated.

100%! This gimmick is very well hidden in something people would expect to find at any psychic reading location or tarot card set. A long glance at it and you won't even know the secret... Rick does an extremely good job at teaching the effect. I've done this a handful of times already and people lose their mind. I've been asked numerous times before owning this effect, "Can you tell me my birthday", now I can say yes.

The secret has been around for ages and makes this effect one of a kind. If you're even hinting at purchasing this effect just stop and do it. You'll be very pleased with your purchase and you'll be sure to make a name for yourself at any event, party, or private engagement.

This is a really great trick and one that I will keep in my wallet and use! The only thing I would add is a couple of Zodiac signs and/or symbols so that BEFORE revealing the birth date, you can tell them their sign of the Zodiac under which they were born. It's an easy addition and puts some more distance between the date reveal and the use of the folder.

PS, the Zodiac signs are for me, not for them, because I have a hard time remembering which one goes with which date. But once I know the birth date, I would have a way of easily looking up the sign right on the same folder.

I just find hilarious the way Rick put the old technique of the 6 numbered cards into a birthday date. Also it's so creative to disguise it as an annoying publicity that you can find on the windshield of your car.

Rick has really outdone himself with CALENDAR!!!! He said he wouldn't have been able to create anything more incredible then his creation CONTACT but once again he blew it out of the water. I've been searching for something this hard hitting for awhile. It gets AMAZING reactions. Thank you Rick for bringing this to the magic world!!

I love the concept and know a lot of thought went into the presentation.

The problem I have is whenever you introduce an unusual prop, spectators often put up their guard. After 20 performances with feedback given, there was a common theme. They didn't know exactly how I knew what I knew but felt it was a product of the questions and answers. They generally thought it clever, but not close to "real magic."

I have some ideas to better disguise the method that I am working on.

I love doing zodiac divination type stuff and use a progressive anagram to get signs from people all the time. Also, I've learned to VERY quickly calculate what day of the week it was for any date in history. However, this takes my little routine to a whole new level b/c I can now get their birthday without asking for it!

I would definitely recommend that you use a "random date generator" (Google it) to practice using this calendar prop. You will get very good at calculating birthdays within a few hours of practice.

One tip: I would suggest using the fingers on one hand to keep track of the month. There are only four panels that are used to calculate the month so, if they say yes to a panel, you can use the fingers on one hand to press down on the calendar or leg, etc and that way you can keep all your attention on the day. It really helped me, hope it helps others.

This little thing is a beauty. It's nice to look at, it looks innocent, it doesn't look like a magic prop. Rather, it looks like something a psychic may have handed you as you passed them on the street. It's well made and should hold up to many performances. The technique itself is simple to do. Rick has done a great job of taking a classic effect and ramping it up to gain more information than ever before. This will have a permanent resting place in my wallet.
