I bought this because I own some of Rafael's other effects and enjoy them.
However I will not be adding this to my repertoire as I am not prepared to spend the many,many,many, many hours that will be required to even begin to perform this effect poorly. Then many, many, many more hours will be required to perform it well never mind perfect it.
All of the several methods required to perform this effect are for advanced magicians only.
Beginners and intermediate magicians should stay away from this one!

The routine is easy to do. The skills to do it is another thing. It is definitely not for the amateur. If you are not skilled at card slights, don't even consider this routine. I am somewhere in the middle and still found it difficult.

To be quite blunt... this trick is hard to do. I’ve been doing card magic for about 10 years, and this not my type of trick to perform. Don’t get me wrong, the trick is beautiful. But it reminds me of a duck swimming on water.... above the water, the duck looks perfectly calm...and under the water his feet and legs are paddling like heck!

Mr. Benatar makes this trick look so easy, but the things he has to do in order to make them look that easy....oh boy.
If you have only been doing card magic for a few years, I suggest you purchase Rafael Benatar’s other trick called You and I.

Awesome method, but requires skill Report this review

I watched the "how to" for the first time, and it confirmed what I thought might be the case... this routine requires some real skill to pull off, and I don't have the skill (yet) to do it. That said, I think the download is worth it just to have a tutorial on the methods required. I've been a long-time casual "fool your poker buddies" kind of guy, largely relying on simple sleights, misdirections, palms and other basic moves (plus lots of gimmicks), but this is the first trick requiring me to step up my game, which I LOVE. After I can get good at the techniques, I'll have a serious skill or two to apply to this and other routines.

I have bought over 200 tricks from Penguin. This by far the most difficult to accomplish. The description should have said that its for advanced magicians only. I love Rafael's work but he should have warned us if we are beginners or intermediate students of magic.

Yes, it does require practice.
If it didn’t, it wouldn’t be worthwhile.
And it’s not intended for tyros who are satisfied with their current status and are not interested in becoming expert performers, both technically and artistically.
The routine as such is a fine example of great staging and excellent structuring.
It is very well explained, including many tips from Benatar’s extensive experience that will also be valuable for other card effects.

An amazing trick, as direct as it gets. Technically demanding? Yes, but I accept the challenge as a pleasant way to improve my skills. Surprised that some people give it a low mark only because they find it difficult.
I think it’s well worth the effort for those of us who are willing, and a lot to learn from the explanations even if you don’t do it.

I'm confident this is going to be great. As an amateur, it's going to take me a bit to perfect, there are significant "moves/skills" involved. So, plan to practice a lot.
However, it's a great looking effect and well worth the price!
The teaching is superb.
I expect spectator responses will be awesome.
I will comment further after I perform it several times.

Ths effect by Rafael Benatar is wonderful, and I am impressed with his skill. However, this is an effect that will take a great deal of practice for most. It has a high skill level and won't be learned overnight unless the purchaser already has the chops for it. It was well worth the reasonable purchase price, even though at my age, I don't have the time and patience to obtain the necessary skill level to perform it.
