From television, to live shows, pop/rock concerts, and theme parks, in the history of magic, Franz Harary stands alone as the first world-class magician to design and perform illusions entirely of his own creation. His technical achievements in magic know no equal and his international tours are unparalleled in the industry. Just to name of few of his accomplishments...

At Kennedy Space Center, for a live audience, Harary made NASA’s Space Shuttle disappear in front of startled onlookers! This Mega Illusion was the finale of NBC’s highest rated special of the year.

He’s made an MD-80 airliner magically appear from thin air numerous times on US network and international television.

On his first Japanese TV special, Harary made a 52-story skyscraper vanish from the center of Tokyo, a fete that holds the record for the largest illusion ever. He’s also made the Goodyear Blimp disappear as part of a 1-hour special for Japan’s No.1 television network.

In Hawaii, Harary moved the position of the Diamond Head Volcano 2 miles. At Pearl Harbor he caused the battle ship USS Missouri to become invisible.

In Las Vegas, Harary caused the Luxor Pyramid Hotel Casino to vanish.

In Moscow, Harary caused a Russian tank, surrounded by a cordon of military police, to disappear. This earns him the title, Illusionist Of The Year, at the International Magic Awards.

In India, Harary levitated the Taj Mahal on a TV Special viewed by 400 million.

In Abu Dhabi, he magically produced an A-330 jetliner in the desert as the closing of his middle-eastern TV special.

Live, in Rio de Janeiro Harary moved the “Cristo” (Rio’s famous 15 story statue) from the top of one mountain to another.

In his second TV special in India and China, Harary generated combined viewership of over 1.2 billion people, making Harary the most seen magician on the planet.

Harary teleported a Japanese superstar from Tokyo to Los Angeles, live on network television, in front of live audiences at both locations.

Working with NASA, Harary made an SR 71 Black Bird (the world’s fastest plane) vanish in a flash of light.

On his TV own series, Magic Planet, Harary magically produced a convoy of ten semi-trucks.

In Dalian, China, Harary produced, Polar Chaos, the largest fire effects stunt show of its kind, which set records for flame size and overall explosive fire power.

In Cairo, Egypt, Harary caused the Sphinx to become invisible, and in doing so he was presented with The International Magician’s Society’s highest honor.

Some parts are too loud and some others are almost silent. I liked the lecture tho. There are no tricks or anything like that. But listening to his experiences is something worth the time as a performer.

This suffers from trying to be a lot of things and failing to be any of them. If it were a retrospective on Franz's career and stories about working with a laundry list of celebrities, it might have been interesting. If it were just a backstage look at a huge illusion show, it might have been interesting. If it were an engineering seminar or a tutorial on video editing or graphic design, even that could have been interesting. Instead, it touches on all these things, but then shifts directions constantly. The backstage video is muddy and doesn't really tell you anything that isn't already obvious (i.e., people who wear different outfits during the show have to change their costumes backstage). Instead of giving any insights into how to conceptualize large scale illusions, Franz brags that he made a car appear when he was a teenager and parlayed that into working with Michael Jackson at 21, then tells you to study engineering and psychology, and transitions int YouTube videos of people ripping off his illusions and encouraging you to report any such people to his Facebook page. Along the way, he puts some of his assistants and an audience member on the spot, asking them to describe their onstage personas in relation to amalgams of known actors and characters (he describes himself as part Tom Hanks, part Iron Man, part Willy Wonka, and part Doc Brown), which is awkward to watch as they struggle to give answers that aren't to his liking (e.g., "the awkward guy in the office" is not a known movie character). It ends with a pitch reel for a magic theme... park? Restaurant? Ride? I'm not exactly sure. Overall, it was nearly three hours that included a few interesting anecdotes that I would have appreciated more in a free podcast interview than a $30 lecture.

This is very good lecture for thinking magician. Definitely not for beginners. It takes experience to implement such deep ideas that look simple enough, but will take some good thinking.
Franz gives some incredible hints and points here and there, but it will escape many listeners who is used to being taught just tricks and not philosophy of personal growth as an artist.

I didn't find this useful in least. Franz, a seemingly nice man might just have a look what I made complex as its stated that the young magician is his mini. Its hard to watch at times.

This isn't the first time I've had the chance to see Franz lecture. It's also not the first time I've heard some of the same stories he shared here, but it's worth watching it again. Anytime I hear him lecture I learn something. He doesn't sugarcoat anything and says it like it is. He's been through it all. He started off doing small local shows here in Michigan and has since traveled the world performing on his own TV specials and in stadiums. I think this is a lecture the true pros will enjoy and get where he is coming from. Some of the less than professional magicians out there ( both business wise and ethically wise ) won't like it as much. I loved it. I liked it even better than the other lecture he did for Penguin and I thought that was incredible, too.

To me this felt more like a documentary about a person than like a lecture where you could take anything home.

Franz is a very likeable person and I admire his achievements. So, this review is simply about the product and how much I believe you can get out of it.

Nevertheless, it is entertaining. So, if you'd came across Franz Harary Live 2 on TV I'm sure you would watch it till the end.

Get it if you like to be entertained but don't expect to take anything home.
