KYOTO Deck is a magician fooler that has twenty ways of forcing a card.

Effect
A deck is shown to be well mixed then shuffled. The deck is handed to a spectator and shuffled by him/her.

The spectator stops shuffling at any time, and deals cards one at a time. Then he stops dealing at any point he/she likes.

The card he/she stopped dealing is a force card.

This deck utilizes a simple but subtle principle. There is no need to memorize lots of things.

KYOTO Deck can be used by itself as a mental magic or in conjunction with routines that require a force.

DVD includes as many as twenty handlings, and how to make your performance more effective. We believe that you will find your favorite handling among them.

No difficult sleights are needed.
You can use this deck in a surrounded situation.
Not a rough & smooth deck.

As you might suspect this deck is a one trick pony and you will need to bring it in as a cooler. However, do not be deterred! It is a clever application of two old principles that allow you to apparently show the deck to be normal. Murakami provides about 20 forces you can use, including letting the spectator shuffle and cut the deck. The video is in Japanese but the English subtitles are clear and he is very thorough in explaining every detail. Murakami suggests marking certain cards with a pencil dot but I think scratching a white line diagonally through a corner of the back border is much less visible to spectators but easier for my eyes to see in dim light. If you need a prediction trick that will leave the spectators(and most magicians)scratching their heads in disbelief, consider the Kyoto Deck, especially after you have shown several card tricks with an unprepared deck.
