The Pen Through Anything concept has (at least in my experience) been one of the most copied effects
I have seen (short of McBride's card act), with real possibilities that someone in your audience has
either seen someone do it poorly enough to out the method, or just have Occam's razor-ed the
physics.
The phrase "brand new mechanism" is not really correct. The central methodology
to accomplish the pen-etration is essentially the same as classic versions, and very effective.
However, Doug Edwards retooled the concept in some very significant ways, IMO. It is fully usable
in the role it appears to have, as a pen either you or any spectator can use with no fear of
discovery. The penetration is also more convincing (i.e. further through the bill) than quite a few
of the classic versions out there. The only reason for this not to have 5 stars is that it still is
a plastic pen, and might be less of a fit to your performing persona if you happen to work Coat and
Tie, like I do mostly.
PS - The title "Ultimate Shocking Pen" is a bit misleading and must
be from some idiomatic translation from Japanese. This is a Pen through XXX (bill, shirt, menu...
you get the idea) effect

This is hands down the best pin through Bill gimmick on the market you're able to start clean and
examinable and in clean and examinable with no extra gimmicks left in your hand like other versions
this uses a single pointed pin with a special gimmick that allows you to have the pen go from being
a solid pin to a magnetic gimmick pen switching the pin from solid to gimmick mode is quick and easy
in the overall look of the pen is not suspicious looking and even has white lettering on the side
that says high quality pen made in Japan which make the pen seem more like a real ordinary plastic
pen because most pens have a logo written on them also if you hand the pen out with the cap removed
they won't be able to unscrew the pen tip into two pieces it will stay connected and solid making
the pen more examinable if they were to try to unscrew it also this has a pretty strong magnetic
attraction allowing you to penetrate through thicker objects like coins as well I didn't give this
five stars however because I didn't like the fact that the pen has the tenyo logo molded onto the
pen plastic it's hard to see but it's there
