I purchased Rick's original DVD years ago and still had trouble throwing cards. At Magi-Fest a few
years ago Rick and I ended up rooming together one night and he was nice enough to help me out and
my results improved dramatically. That said, I used it as pretty much like a party trick until
recently. I started adding card throwing into my school assemblies about a month ago and the kids
and adults LOVED it.
I purchased Velocity for the information it contained about adding
card throwing into your act; they types of targets and things you could throw at and other flicks
and flourishes. The purchase was well worth it. In Velocity, Rick does a much more in depth job of
explaining grips, techniques and the mechanics of throwing. If you've never thrown a card before,
it's still going to take a considerable amount of practice to build up speed, accuracy and
consistency. That said, it’s a lot like starting out in golf. While you may not be great at first,
every so often you’ll make a great throw that will keep you motivated.
The production
values are excellent which I feel are necessary for a project such as this one. Unless you’re
fortunate enough to have Rick teach you one-on-one, Velocity is the next best thing. Plus, the
information about routining it into your show is also very valuable.

Received my copy today along with several decks of Bikes and one set of Banshee cards. You couldn't
ask for better explanation than what is in this package. I used to think that I could throw pretty
well. I was wrong. He teaches some really great techniques. The way to hold the card for better
accuracy and speed. The way to flourish a bit. It was all great. He even threw in some finger
flicking tricks. I consider those to be bonuses and will look more into them later. I am mainly
interested in the actual card throwing whether it be for speed or just accuracy. By the time I was
done watching the video I was pouring will sweat. I was also in a living room full of cards. I used
all of the old cards that I put into a box that I knew I was saving for some odd reason. Glad that I
did. I am now able to throw with far superior accuracy than before although I still have far to go.
I can now knock a straw out of a cup from 5 feet away with maybe 1 out of 4 tries. I was also able
to softly throw cards between my cats legs while she was investigating the pile of cards. In my
opinion this is a very great learning tool. It is a way to draw attention to yourself before you
start your act and it is also just plain and simply fun to practice. Am I happy with my purchase?
Absolutely.

I was first introduced to the Banshee throwing cards by my card dealer which got me interested in
card throwing. At first , I thought that I was pretty good at throwing cards , but after trying to
hit a target , I missed so much that I started chipping the corners of my cards off. I felt like it
was a waste to spoil such good cards , so I decided to pick up this DVD. I was really amazed by the
techniques the taught in the DVD , they helped to improve my speed and accuracy. I could really see
myself hitting closer to the target and being able to make use of my strength. Before I got the DVD
, I thought that card throwing just depends on brute strength and aiming. After watching the DVD ,
it taught me throwing without the right techniques would just waste your energy. You could be the
world's strongest man , but you wouldn't be able to throw like Rick Smith JR. , the Sniper with his
high caliber card throwing system.

This DVD is very detailed and rick smith jr is a great teacher. Since I've watched this my card
throwing accuracy has gotten better. The only reason I gave It 4 stars is because I've expected a
bit more. Overall a great DVD.
this technique is very very well explained and I have got killer reactions from this practise and it
will work.
