With all the respect for Peter Turner's genius, I give this download a solid 3. The amount of filler is alarming. "I'm putting the card down, are you following me? so, as I say, I'm putting the card down, I hope I'm being clear. Lets go back to the point before I put the card down, and now I put it down, I don't know whether that makes sense" Are we in the kindergarten?

Then, I don't know how much preparation went into filming of this, it felt a bit pulled out of the sleeve. "Imagine this is a bicycle deck. I don't have one here, I use my brand deck, but imagine it is a bicycle deck. Bicycle decks have [this and that]...." Well, if you want to show something about the bicycle deck, why not bring a bicycle deck to the studio? Does it bring me closer to getting interested in the brand deck? - not really, so I don't understand. Or: "Imagine these cards are blank" - why not bring the blank cards to the studio? ....Just sends the wrong message about the attitude and the effort put into the filming.

Effect 1: psychological force, with a few good ideas.
Effect 2: triple A by Marc Paul which I already owe
Effect 3: interesting method. best case scenario, the spectator will ask "how did he know?"
Effect 4: truly painful experience for me. Maybe its me the problem, but I will have to watch the explanation again, and maybe again, just to order this conglomeration of thoughts and ideas and procedures tossed randomly at you. We are first shown how to split the card - from far away, so one is to guess what is happening; fortunately there is an added extra closeup explanation for those new to it. Either way, don't expect to learn why we are splitting the card and how this fits into which idea any time soon. In short, I'm afraid the explanations were all over the place, jumping all directions, getting ahead of time, coming back, showing alternatives to you're-not-sure-what. And every 10 seconds "am I clear?" Rather painful.

So, solid 3. There are definitely good ideas, "gems" as they say it, but you have to smoke them out of the rest.
