Big Blind Media puts out some great quality dvds. This one is no different. The production value is
very high and the music is superb. Moran walks you through the cull in extreme detail. This is a
difficult sleight to get down and one that is hard to understand from a book. He demonstrates
various types of culls for placement at the bottom or culling multiple selections. The tricks he
demonstrates are also very good. This isn't a dvd for beginners, but an intermediate magician with a
good understanding of card magic should have no problems with this material.

The problem with this DVD is the lack of specificity in the instruction. Probably a case of "I've
been doing this so long I forgot how I struggeled to learn this." Iain fails to address how he holds
the cards or how the right hand fingers switch/open to receive the culled card.
When I first
tried to follow his instruction my hands naturally went into Mechanic's grip. Upon watching the DVD
closer I noticed Iaian has his four fingers on the left side of the deck, with the deck pushed far
into the crook of the thumb which allows greater ease to push the culled card the left fingers
versus pulling with the right fingers. He never mentions this.
Being this is a DVD that
presents itself as definitive instruction on the cull, I believe Iain has failed in what is the
first, and most significant, lesson of the DVD which is how to cull a single card. It's only through
further experimentation of my own that I'm learning this move.

THis for me was a very useful DVD as I make a living off of card tricks.Every thing I own in the
world these days has been paid for by my card work.So respect for Iain Moran
I was very
happy I invested my hard earned money into this DVD since this is what I do for a living and also
because this is an excellent intructional DVD,I will be using 90 percent of what I was taught on
this DVD to help me make even more money next year.
Very very useful stuff.Learning how to
cull correctly will take your card magic to the next level as you will be able to stack the deck in
front of them and do the most convincing forces and be able to hand the deck over so they can
shuffel and inspect all they want.Basically they realize to shut their mouths and leave the card
magic to you.So far this is not the type of stuff you learn on youtube from a 12 year old kid or
some smart ass puppy case who picked up card magic for a short while and could not hack and let us
keep it that way.
THis DVD is for the serious seeker of card magic
With this
information you will not only be able to entertain people better but you will also own all the smart
mouth chumps
ok I wrote why too much. All you really need to know is this is an excellent
DVD and I am truly thankful to Iain Moran

I think this is a pretty good dvd on culling. It goes over a lot of things, besides just the
standard cull. 3 of the effects are really good,in my opinion, but the other 3 are just average. The
teaching could be a little more in depth, but overall it is a good buy.
I think this is a great DVD. I had no experience with culling cards. I had no idea of the way this
technique could be used. Iain Moran does a great job of explaining, teaching, and demonstrating the
uses of this move. I was amazed at the possibilities. There is a lot of information here. It will
keep me busy for a while mastering all the of the ways to use it. I think the price of the DVD could
have been a little lower, but I am glad I made the purchase. I'm very happy with it.
Another case of someone doing something so long, they've forgotten their initial struggles with the
subtleties and timing.
I agree with my fellow 'Anonymous from NYC' above. The DVD lacks those
specifics in the handling and the timing to be of real value to any beginner. If you've been
comfortable culling, you may find Iain's approach as an alternative to using the right fingers to
cull.
