I got this DVD thinking that it would be a great introduction to Hypnosis and I feel like this DVD
is a great introduction to hypnosis. However, I really wanted more from this DVD in terms of
content. I understand that the DVD is only 90min long it doesn't really have enough time to go in
depth with all the elements of hypnosis but even the most basic things, like the induction and how
to deepen the induction. The DVD is great start to practice hypnosis but will not get you to
deeper stages of trances that you're looking for. On the other hand, the materials that Richard
Nongard provides on his website in addition to the DVD are a little more helpful but still lack the
same depth. Maybe there's not that much depth to it, I don't know. To sum everything up, Good
intro to the science and method, not really going to get too far with it, you'll still have to/want
to buy more on the subject to really get in to it.

This DVD is one of my first sources that i got it to learn and understand what is hypnosis, what
isnt hypnosis ,how can i guide a hypnotic trance and learn a rapid induction also
Mr
Nongard is an expert in hypnosis and a very good teacher. You can understand the first time, but you
need to watch the DVD a couple of times to absorb everything.
Hypnosis is a beautiful thing. You
cant watch this DVD with the same frame of mind that you watch a Magic DVD.
You need to fully
understand why trances happens and very important TRY IT. WIth a friend or your cousin or your
brother or a friend´s friend.
From this DVD you have a very good base for the understanding
of hypnosis.
I can recommend you after this DVD any product of Anthony Jacquin.

I got the streaming-version from Nongard's site (sorry Penguin!), but still wanted to leave a quick
review here.
As other reviewers have said, this is a good introduction to hypnosis,
specifically presented from a Performance point-of-view. Although it doesn't necessarily delve too
deep into any specific portion of the process, it still gives a ton of information, both theoretical
and practical, for the short 90-minute run time.
He does mention, at each stage of the
video, that there are other in-depth videos & books available on those specific subjects, both from
him & others, with little-to-no preferential treatment to his own products or web-store.
The video-production quality kind of sucked. It just looks like they put a consumer camcorder
on a tripod, brought in some extra lamps from throughout the house/office, and let it roll. The
'editing' looks like it was done with the simple "Movie-Maker" included with his operating system.
His on-screen notes consisted of a Flip-Chart and Magic Markers, and his handwriting is
poor. I know that even the most rudimentary video editors have the ability to put text on the
screen. I think that was the bottom-of-the-barrel, as far as the review goes.
Overall, I
think that the product is a bit overpriced at Nongard's site, where I bought the streaming version
(only available directly from his site). Even at Penguin's price for the DVD, it's still a bit
pricey. Even though it covers the basics very well, it still only scratches the surface, and left
me wanting more. Plus, at that price, I'd at least expect the on-screen text to be CGI, not a
flip-chart from the 1980s.
So, would I recommend it? From an Introductory/Informational
point-of-view: Yes. From a Bang-for-your-Buck point-of-view: Probably not. But it's not really
*that* expensive, so if you have a big curiosity about the subject and won't really miss the money
too much, then go for it.

Good introduction to hypnosis. The Trilby Connection just kind of throws you in the deep end and
tells you to start swimming. This is a good first purchase on your journey to becoming a hypnotist.
I also recommend Mastering Hypnotic Power and Speed Trance. The Manchurian Approach is great once
you feel more comfortable with the basics.

the DVD is an Excellent introduction to hypnosis, hypnosis is not a trick, is something you do
what
I mean by this is that you can practice a magic trick over and over again, and certainly you can
pratice hypnosis over and over again but it does not work 100% of all the time, so if you want to
full around with hypnosis a couple times this DVD is excellent!!!
