This routine re-enforces how important expertise in the fundamentals is to good magical
presentation. Too much magic is concerned with the physical moves; pass, double lift etc. and not
enough with the where you look, act or gesture. As magicians, we get hung up on the classic sales
pitch, "You'll LOVE the method!", why do I care about the method? What I care about is a solid
usable effect. You'll see nothing groundbreaking here, and that's why many will bypass it.
Especially with the price. Well firstly, it's worth every penny. When you learn a good effect,
you're not paying for the trick, you're paying for the years of experience that went along with it.
This is one of those effects. Sure it's simple, but it's not easy. You see, this effect is based
on how well you can play the part of a magician. I.e., your audience management. And that requires
good acting skills. If you don't have them you won't have success with this. If you do have those
aforementioned chops, you'll have a piece you'll treasure.
