I'm very interested in card folds as I really enjoy the card to impossible location plot. My problem with all the folds I've worked with up till this point has been the difficulty in achieving a uniform fold every time. I don't like "knacky" moves or leaving things to chance, especially if there is a switch involved in a routine. To me the effect of a card appearing some impossible place is diminished slightly if it looks like it was sloppily folded in haste and fear of detection. The C fold allows you to utilize your hands and the deck itself in two useful ways...

1) As guides to help you fold cleanly on the vertical and horizontal center lines of the card.
2) As braces to provide leverage for crisp and clean creases.

The C fold is essentially an improvement on John Bannon's creased lightning fold. Scott credits Bannon and quickly runs through the mechanics of creased lightning as well as the mercury fold and Matt Schulien's one handed fold. He also mentions Michael Kaminskas fold (also an off shoot of Bannon's work) which I've been experimenting with lately and must admit I prefer the C fold. One thing I like in particular about the C fold is that it can be broken down into steps and doesn't have to be executed in one move like the standard mercury fold typically is.

Scott teaches the move quickly but thoroughly, demonstrating from multiple angles and with close ups. As an added bonus he gives his work on the card in matchbook and an updated Anneman revelation. I thought both of these additions were solid effects and seemed practical in real world application.

There is no ground breaking thinking here, just really smart practical thinking that comes from real world experience and contemplation. The C fold is a "better mousetrap" and that's all I was looking for. The move will take some practice like any other fold but so far I find it to be the most comfortable of any comparable move I've experimented with.
