When you learn the secret here you're going to swear that it can't work as well as you'd expect. And
to be fair, there is an extremely small set of angles (depending on lighting, etc.) that could make
this trick a little less fooling. What you'll find, however, is that you're going to want this trick
with you constantly. It's a fantastic piece of art that, at its core, appears as pure a magical
moment as just about anything you've ever seen.
To put it simply, this trick is going to
fool YOU half of the time, even though you know what's happening in your hands. When I need to reset
(a process that typically takes about 5-10 seconds with your back turned) it typically takes me much
more time to find the sneaky gimmick (that I manipulated myself!) than it takes to actually put
things back in pre-performance state. I've got decent, not-old-man eyes and I can't even easily spot
the gimmick in it's post-trick state half of the time!
No, you can't let the spectator
inspect the deck until you've done a very small amount of work. You can, however, let them inspect
the gimmick that finds their card (and that chosen/signed card itself!) as much as they want right
away. They can even remove both that 6H (or whichever other card you used to make the gimmick) and
the chosen card from the deck themselves!
You should absolutely be learning this trick
right now.
