Throughout this entire lecture Brandon stole and taught other magicians material, without their
permission. From Cosmo Salono’s “The Q”, Derek DelGaudio’s Truffle Shuffle, Nathan Kranzo’s Tru
Test, Steve Fearson’s Floating Cigarette, just to name a few. There are over a dozen effects taught
with out permission.I can’t imagine why or how penguin would allow this.
You are misguided if you think everything must be credited.
In our small (magic) world, that's just the way it is. Everything should be credited when possible, especially if you're lecturing. Effects that are shared (particularly those that were purchased) should only be taught when permission is granted from the creator.
In his defense, Brandon does name (almost) everyone whose work he explains, but that isn't always enough. In his surrounded ACAAN routine, he uses a card steal based on the Kelly Bottom Placement that I created many years ago and was published in Jon Racherbaumer's column in Magic Magazine in 2000. A little research goes a long way.
