I will again sing the praises of the "Live Act" formula. I love seeing how a seasoned pro like
Osterlind takes a real world audience on a literal mind trip. How he interacts with and guides his
audience gave me alot of ideas for developing my own on stage personality ( even though I'm not
focusing on mentalism).
When he is teaching his act, he seems genuinely excited to share
the various techniques, he's not wanting to hold anything back. You can tell he genuinely likes Dan
and that helps him want to share even more of his theories on performing mentalism. There's alot of
GOLD in this lecture and I know I will be re-watching this one plenty of times.
The
routines I liked the best are his Spoon Bending (I've never been interested in this type of act
before... but now I'm thinking about it!), the watch / time routine, and the magazine test.
