I picked up every one of Karrell Fox's books that became available recently when the trove of
new/old stock Supreme Magic books hit the market last year, and found every one of them to be both
entertaining and full of interesting and useful magic. So I downloaded this video to see him in
action, and was not disappointed. I'll probably only use three of the effects (Sealed Stab
Prediction, Jig-Saw Cards and Cane to Wand), but those three were worth the price of admission, IMO.
As with his books, the magic on this DVD/download is solid and effective, easy to do, and does not
require significant expenditure for props. Fox performs the close up effects for two spectators,
then does a number of stand up effects for the camera, although Ian Adair does stand in as a
"volunteer" for at least one. He performs with the relaxed congeniality of a man who has spent his
life on stage. He also makes some quips and gags with the female spectators that simply would not
be appropriate today, but then this video was filmed long ago when that sort of thing was not
uncommon. If you like Fox's magic, or any magic that is fun and doesn't take itself too seriously,
you'll probably enjoy this video.
