I am not sure if this is David's standard style of performing or just an example of doing "the
classics", yet it was disappointing for me. This might be a good starting guide for those wanting to
enter this field of magic and find items that you can do to entertain children, yet it was like
watching a magic catalogue of magic tricks. The performance was dry, uninspiring, the patter was
straight from the instruction page of the tricks. Took me 3 sessions to watch the whole performance.
Children's entertainers are often looked down on by other magicians and these kind of magic
performances are the reason. Sorry to be so harsh but this genre really needs to step up. Children
deserve much better. A shame Penguin can not find better examples of good children performers. As
for the tricks, they are performed well enough and David is comfortable performing for the school
children, I just hope those who watch this tape will take the tricks and make them entertaining.
