So the 1st thing that comes to most anyones mind when they see this is "TRICK LIGHTER".
I
can see this as a part of an effect but not stand alone.
Most zippo's are NOT leather
covered B.T.W.
Would not want to risk the spectator getting scared when it lights, and drop
it.
I am about to order this, but I did want to respond to this review. I think the reviewer is thinking too much like a magician things and not like an audience member and/or volunteer. \r\n\r\nNo, not all Zippo lighters are covered in leather, but some are. Also from what I\'ve seen in the video, it is a very clever and compact effect. I really don\'t think someone is going to look at that and think \"trick lighter\". Who knows, maybe they will, however are you going to figure out how the trick works? Are you going to know the mechanism behind it? I don\'t think so. As long as they don\'t know that, there will be a suspension of disbelief. It is all about audience control. The problem is with this review is when you are aware of how something works from behind the curtain it takes away from the illusion.
Ok, for future reference, do not use voice-to-text when writing a review.
How do you know he’s using voice to text, And who cares anyways!?!? It’s a magic review.....TROLL!\r\n
Kevin, did you actually buy this? From your review, it sort of sounds like you have an opinion about it but may not own it. Can you please clarify? I\'m curious if it works as promised. Thanks!
Madmark I did buy this from penguin. I bought the brown leather one. The lighter works as promised and I’m really enjoying it. you have a choice between a 5 second delay or 10 second delay with the lighter, I agree with Kevin that an option for a longer delay period would have been even better but I certainly wouldn’t give this product a 3 star rating. I would rate the brown leather lighter I bought a 4-4.5 stars. I admit the leather looks a bit nicer on the videos but that being said this honestly is one of my favorite purchases this year. Hopefully it’s built to last!
* sorry I meant to say I agree with the other review that stated the lighter should have had a longer time delay, not Kevin.
Guys its all about the presentation an audience management. If you pull this of as your single big effect, or as your closer, than the risk people will think its a trick lighter is higher. Use this utility as a quick but nice \"in between\" effect to look more versitile in your magic performances. Use it to quickly lighten up flash paper in a non challant way. Or use it when ever your at a party to lighten up the cigarette of someone to get in contact with that person ect ect. After you shown that you even can light up a lighter with \"magic\", you go on as if its nothing for you and do the next trick. So your spectators dont get enough time to think about how its done and in theire memory they will remember that you introduced yourself by making fire with your \"magic\".
@jinxed you can do this as a throwaway but this isn\'t proceed for that. If it was $15-$20 maybe...
