There were two reasons why I bought this video;
They advertised that there were new things here,
and
that this material was intended for trade shows.
Well, none of this happened.
When it came to news, there was not a single one. All that happened was that Osterlind talked
about the same things and effects that he has done in every single video since Mind Mysteries was
launched.
As for what should be trade show material;
I don't know what kind of trade
show Osterlind claims he performs for, all I can say is that no company in this country would accept
long drawn out, obscure features that keep the audience off the boot for too long.
Exhibitors on
trade shows' goal is to get as many people as possible to their boot and talk to them as quickly as
possible.
A program like this is definitely not letting that happen.
This video has
been called Richard Osterlind's Act
The truth is that it is not an act at all, with a beginning,
a middle and an end.
By contrast, a handful of effects are quickly found and completely randomly
performed.
The performance was obviously without plan and direction, indistinct, uncertain,
and difficult for the audience to follow.
There were times when I wondered about Osterlind at
all
knew what he was doing during this performance.
I would think that Osterlind could
benefit from studying Ken Weber's and Bob Cassidy's thoughts on performing
As the reader
will understand, this video is not recommended and I am considering asking Penguin to refund what I
paid.
I have a large number of Penguin's other videos, and overall I'm happy with most of them.
- but not this one, which is by no means worth the money.
Themetalmaster, (whoever you might be),
What I said might sound harsh, but this is my honest summing up after having seen this video.
Oh btw, although I tried out a few things listed on Osterlind's site many years ago, nothing of the mental magic he claims to be "his effects" has found the way to my professional performances.
