The Raven is an awesome device. Like many, I've been aware of it since that first David Blaine
special where he made the coin vanish from the kid's hand, and have had one for many years. It's
great to see it back in action with this new instruction.
The new video from Nick Locapo
truly illustrates the versatility and real-world usefulness of this gimmick. Not only does he cover
3 ways to hook up the device, he teaches effects with coins, paper money, paperclips, cards, salt
shakers, bottle caps, shot glasses, and more.
A few of the effects are best suited for
video, but Nick covers a lot of great effects and tips for performing in the real world as well,
accompanied by live performance videos.
Never has "limited only by your imagination" felt
more true.
If you've never owned a Raven, you'll want this package. If you've had a Raven
sitting in your drawer for years, get the video. It'll make you want to dust it off and start
blowing minds.
Which effects are best suited for video? I'm most interested in the shot glass and salt shaker appearances. I know it's great for vanishing coins, just wondering how practical it is for appearances - particularly of those items as it's something I didn't think possible with it before.
The salt shaker and shot gloss are suited for video. While it is “possible” to do it in person I highly doubt it is something you’re gonna be using off camera. The appearance of coins, paper clips, paper money, playing cards and other flat small objects, however, are very practical.
