To my chagrin, I missed out on Sr. Rioboo's first English translation, and jumped on this one as
soon as it became available. I am a lover of The Spanish School of card magic, as well as the use of
subtlety and psychology. This book rings both bells.
The material is top notch, the
thinking brilliant, and the translation wonderfully executed. Sr. Rioboo provides not only
jaw-dropping routines, but also carefully explains his thinking and reasoning. These are not
self-working tricks. They require thought, audience management, and yes, even technical sleights.
But those are kept to a minimum, and used only when necessary as the best method for achieving an
effect. And in the end it's the effect that matters most, not the method.
Excellent value
for the price! I'd get one before they, too, are gone.
