I misread the download description. I thought this video would teach me how to make my own
Devano-style rising deck --not so! This video assumes you already have a deck (or maybe want to
know what went wrong with the one you tossed) and explains how to troubleshoot and repair the most
common problems. On that count, this download is worth it. I have an Arne deck that I've had for
close to 40 years (!) but after being out of use for some time, it started giving me problems.
Although Haydn's tips didn't address my specific issue, watching him open up the deck and explain
the inner workings gave me the confidence to dissect my own and figure out the 'sticking' points
(pun intended). Now it's almost as good as new. Plus as advertised, Haydn shares ways to handle
the deck that masquerade the fact that it's gimmicked. I still prefer the Don Alan routine over the
one Haydn teaches, but his is more suitable for walk around gigs so it's worth knowing. All in all,
a good purchase.
