Ive been doing this trick for about 8 years now and it never fails to get an amazing reaction from
people. One of my favorite card tricks in existence. Just recently started doing another version by
another magician that has a kicker ending. Im going to work it more but i still get better reactions
with this original.
The key move is not "moving the ink."
The key sleight is a card switch.
I think Bannon's method lacks credibility.
You should, in real life, be able to reveal your blue-backed prediction without having to drop it on the red-backed deck.
A switch -- APPARENTLY TO A BLUE BACKER that's a prediction card -- needs to occur AWAY FROM the red-backed deck.
Why would you drop your blue backer on a red backed deck?
No. YOU'D JUST SHOW IT.
My solution is to make the switch from blue to red in the act of :
1. showing a blue backer in your pocket.
2.revealing it's the prediction.
3. the solution lies in temporarily adhering the blue part: cut it from a blue back.
Stick it on your really red card pocket prediction before the trick. Then Get rid of temporary blue cut out while showing the face.
The audience saw the blue. Now they see the face.
Proceed with sliding the GENIINE RED BACKER under the card on table.
See "Eclipse" sold here on Penguin.
It's a better solution, IMHO, than Bannon's r/b card.
