Woody has taken another old principle and given it a new wrapping to make it better. While I tend to
avoid the cut a packet, count it then look at the card that corresponds to that number tricks,
wrapping it in a mathematical presentation gives you a reason. I still wouldn't present this as a
mind-reading trick, if you could really read minds would you really do something this convoluted?
IF you follow Woody's advice and make the presentation interesting this is a fun trick that
can't be explained. If you do it mechanically and focus on the process it is still a good trick but
not entertaining, and if they remember exactly what you did they can do it and it will work.
Woody does a good job describing other ways to use the EP principle and how it works. I've know
the Clock trick for decades but never really thought about why it works, just that it does. Now I
know.
Thanks Woody.
