I have loved this effect since experiencing Luis De Matos perform it in The Illusionists for a theatre full of people. You can use any deck of cards. No advance preparation required. Can be done for one person or a thousand people. Allows for personalisation to your character and performance type. And with some practice can be done not only with cards but with a page from a magazine which really enhances the performance. Suitable for stage, close up or even through video conference. The effect is clearly taught and once you have mastered the basic handling it’s relatively easy to customize to your own style.
