I took away so many technical and performance insights from Luis's lecture, I will no doubt
reference back to this many times in the future. It's clear Luis draws in influences from his
hometown of Chicago, with several techniques credited to Marlo.
Luis took a few traditional
tricks and added his own much appreciated subtleties, and his breakdown of these tricks leave you
jam packed with references to resources and further learnings. My favorite trick of the set was
Guilt, a multi-phased packet trick I plan to spend time perfecting.
Luis's magic is bold, his
performance and teaching are well-paced, and he's very thoughtful in how he explains his decision on
some handlings in various effects.
His appreciation for the classics is clear and important,
Luis has an incredible amount of experience as a performance in various settings; and that becomes
obvious the more you watch and learn.
I can't wait to see what else Luis's comes out with, I
learned so much and I can't wait to continue learning from him.
