This review about Lee Earle’s lecture is going to be very familiar sounding to you if you read my
reviews about the Eugene Burger lectures. The reason is very simple. Eugene was the entertainer the
second year of my client appreciation dinner’s, and Lee Earle was the Entertainer at the first one.
So many of the facts and background information is very similar.
I first heard of Lee Earle
from Mark Roberts who was the owner of Magicland in Dallas at that time. I had been a customer of
Mark’s for a little while and one day, and I remember it like it was yesterday, Mark said, “I can’t
believe you don’t do Mentalism considering what you do for a living and the kind of clients you
have.” And I remember asking him this question. “What’s Mentalism?” And Mark said, “You know it’s
that stuff that Kreskin does.” I’ve always liked Kreskin so that really lit a fire under me.
Talking with Mark about where he thought I should begin and what books or tapes or tricks to
get, the first person he referred me to was Lee Earle. I remember getting a couple things of his
that day and I couldn’t wait to get home to watch them. I became a big fan of Lee’s material and his
approach and his mind-set about all things related to Mentalism. I subscribed to Syzygy and when it
would come in the mail I literally would open the envelope while standing at the mailbox in front of
my house and quickly scan the entire issue. After that I would read it over and over and began
performing many of the effects in it. Some of which are in this lecture and his other lecture.
When you read what big name Mentalists such as Banachek, Marc Salem, John Riggs, Ken Dyne, Mark
Strivings, Scott Wells and Kenton Knepper have said about Lee, you shouldn’t have even taken the
time to read this review. You just need to get his material. It’s solid. They are workers. And
having seen him perform in front of a live audience of my clients as well as a packed room of Dallas
area magicians, I can tell you that whether this lecture or another is the best he’s ever done, is
totally irrelevant. Lee knows his stuff and you will benefit in enourmously from getting this.
