i am sorry to give that review but let's be honest here, when you buy a professional prop that cost
350$ and is advertized like the best on the market, things need to be clear about what it really is!
of course the watch is beautiful, of course the charging method is great and of course the
multiple options of time delay is cool, BUT...
That watch is so loud that there is no way
you are going to perform that in close up and no one will hear a thing. It does a buzzing sound that
is just a dead give away of the fact that an electronic props is being use to do the smoke, even if
they may not be able to figure out that it is coming from the watch.
also, the amount of
smoke that comes out is so little... even if you produce smoke for 5 seconds that if the spectators
are not close to the magician or if the lightning is not really bright, you may not see the smoke at
all.
i am a proud owner of the VAPR watch and let me tell you that for me, there is no
comparison between the 2. the vapr watch makes a lot of smoke and won't stop producing smoke til you
decide to let go of the remote controle, the smoke is opaque and white and.... there is not a sound
to be hear with the mecanism. Perfectly silent!
i bought the smoke watch pro because i
preferd the look of a apple smart watch and wanted to get rid of the remote controle, but then
discover that the smoke watch pro activation is on the side button of the clock of the watch witch
make no sense at all. when you put, let say, a coin in your palm up hand in order to make it vanish,
there is no reason to turn your hand and go touch the clock of your watch just before make it
vanish..... for me, it is like getting rid of a so-so method of activation(remote) just to create
another so-so method. maybe, just maybe, a mercury switch that would have activate by turning your
hand upside down would habe been a perfect solution but hey, i am not an engeneer, just a magician
that like things to be simple and direct.
well, some people may find that this watch is
perfect for them, but for me that works in real condition all the time, the loud noise and the weird
way to start the watch is a no-no. For these reason, i judge that 350USD is a lot of money for a
prop that i will not use except maybe in virtual condition in front of my cam.
