I'm right up the middle on this one, (it gets 3 stars for its usefulness and because 2.5 stars
aren't available).
This is a good idea and an ingenious little utility. However, I have
to admit that when I received it, I was quite disappointed. Not in what it was, as, (functionally
speaking), I knew what it was. But I expected better construction and a more technical,
longer-lasting gimmick from the gang at D'Lite. The material is good quality and comfortable, but
modification on this utility item that makes it what it is and sets it apart from all others is what
is disappointing. With a little ingenuity, you can probably find that there are some ways to
strengthen the gimmick somewhat at home. ...It would just be nice if those were factory-installed
rather than arriving the way it does.
Again, it's a wonderful, extremely useful
modification of an old standard. Since I got it, I've been carrying a Flip-Tip everywhere I go, as
the opportunities to use it and the applications are seemingly endless, (in fact, I ran into a
friend who sells magic at a stand in a local tourist area who wanted to demonstrate a trick they
sell, and didn't have a TT handy. I passed him my Flip Tip, which he used as a normal TT and when
he passed it back, I produced a silk seemingly out of nowhere to deomonstrate how it could be more
versatile than a normal TT. Now he's hooked.). But it's way over-priced for what you get; which I
assume the bulk of the cost is in the video, and frankly, the video is just not worth the expense.
Too bad D'Lite doesn't sell these in single packs and/or as pairs without the video. ...Perhaps
they will some day.
