I just purchased this trick through the Cool Box deal and viewed the "Learn" section. Having
reviewed that and rereading the reviews of this trick, I sense that there exists some confusion in
these reviews. One reviewer states his disappointment that this cannot be done with a "signed" card.
And one complains that as a beginner he cannot do the sleights for this trick. I'm assuming that the
reviewer is speaking about the gimmicked version. Let's be clear. If you are doing a "signed"
version of Ambitious Card you have enough in your repertoire to do the sleights for this trick.
Additionally, Dan Harlan teaches an ungimmicked ambitious card version of this trick that, in my
opinion, can be done with a signed card. As to the beginners, if you're an absolute beginner the few
sleights required for this trick are common and you might as well use this trick to learn them. Keep
in mind I said "absolute." Any beginner, who has taken up card magic, will have come across these
sleights at the start. In other words, the sleights are basic and not knuckle busters or knacky. Oh,
an aside, the 4 stars and not 5 stars is because Harlan's over 46 minutes of instruction doesn't
teach every one of these basic sleights which would have made his otherwise comprehensive
instructions even longer.
