This is a nice leather wallet. You can use this as a regular wallet. It is barely noticeable in your
pocket it is so thin.
Another six out card index for the same kind of trick is being sold
on penguin as a $50 product. So compared to that, this is like getting a superior, more compact,
more examinable version of the index, plus a leather peek wallet for an extra ten bucks.
My
big complaint is that these gaff cards are a relatively common concept, but they used the absolute
worst way of designing them I have ever seen. There are two other ways I have seen these kind of
gaffs made. What I would call the good way and the bad way. Then what 1914 did was make them in a
way that I would call the very bad way. They look pretty ridiculous.
They went to all the
trouble to get a very unique card stock that keeps the wallet super flat, but then botched the
graphic on the card bad. You have to hold the card in far less natural looking way than you would
with better gaffs.
In fact, when you watch the trailer, they are using Bicycle Maiden Back
cards that are the good style of this gaff. They use better gaff cards in the trailer than what you
actually get with the wallet. You can not display the gaff cards you get, like the way they display
the Maiden Back gaff card in the video.
It is a real shame, because they had a very special
card stock used that is super thin, but also feels really durable.
No idea if you still use this wallet, but have you had any luck with different gaff cards. I agree the design is bad, but I've also not been able to find slim mis-indexed cards. Figured I would reach out to you, as you're the only review that seems to agree with me on this point.
