This is a fantastic performance piece and strong mentalism. The method is beautiful and this effect
can be presented in a number of ways. But my enthusiasm is lessened by the mechanical performance of
(my?) lock. Soon I noticed that the clasp sometimes locks in the position where you set the code. It
takes a lot of moving of the dials and gently working the clasp to get it out of the setting
position. One of the presentation ideas relies on setting the code during performance, but this
option is out of question with my lock. Further, when turning the dials during performance, one of
the dials have a tendency to jam and again you have to work the clasp up and down to free the
setting dial. I don't know if this is a problem of my lock or if the mechanical quality is low
overall, but hadn't it been for this, I would have ordered a second lock to keep as a spare. Because
of my personal experience with my lock, a five start rating is reduced to three stars.
Since I wrote this review I have been in contact with Michael Murray at MindFX and have discussed the problems with my lock. Michael was very helpful and described how to work the lock to avoid this problem and now my lock works PERFECTLY! So, my previous rating of three stars really should be FIVE! I recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a new presentational angle when performing mentalism. And thanks to Michael Murray who is a true gentleman.
