You are obviously new to magic. You are paying for the secret and all the work that went into perfecting the effect, not merely the materials used to create it. And, let's not forget about the manufacturing cost. You didn't think of this beautiful effect, but if you had how long do you think it would take you to come up with all of the moves and the gimmicks required to make it all come together? The answer is a LONG time. This is a well made effect that is well thought out and offers the user not just a "trick," but a short act based around light. So please, think before you make such asinine comments.
Refries is wrong. You are paying for the hype. Magic has always been overpriced even if an effect has been on the market for a decade.
Many drugs and tech devices require years to make and a team of hundreds and don't end up costing as much especially if they are more than 5 years old.
