USPCC prints the black decks to be sold as mainstream (regular retail) decks like the red and blue
rider back decks. That's why there are no gaffs. These were designed to be sold to non-magicians.
As another reviewer noted, the tuck boxes are marked "Standard" rather than "Rider Back", identical
to the design of the red and blue Bicycle decks at grocery stores and drug stores.
Advantage #1: if a spectator asks where you got them, you can easily say something like
"Walgreens" and mention that they come in packs of four with two red and two black decks (which is
absolutely true, in case anyone checks up on you).
Advantage #2: while you don't get the
gaffs, you do get the regular two jokers (one color, one b/w). None of the other special color
decks have color jokers, and only the gold and silver decks come with two jokers (both b/w). That's
something to keep in mind if you're assembling sets for tricks with color-changing reveals that
involve jokers (eg Sizzle, Restless Colors, Double Chameleon), especially if you want to use full
color jokers.
