This is a silly little trick that I perform with a lot of humor. First of all I mention that this
little wallet was handed down to me from my grandfather who bought it in a little leather goods shop
in Italy in 1930. I show it to the spectator so they can see for themselves the "finest leather
craftsmanship in all of 20th century Europe." (It's actually obvious that it is a cheap plastic toy
wallet).
Then I show the cards and explain that I will place the 7 of clubs face down on
top of the 9 of diamonds and will, using all my magical power, push the cards through each other so
that when I remove my hand the 9 of diamonds will be face up on top of the 7 of clubs which will
have traveled through the 9 to end up face down on the table underneath the 9.
I begin to
concentrate deeply but explain that I need to see a doctor about my sleeping problem. That I feel
weak and tired. After a minute or two "mustering up all of my power" I remove my hand (exhausted
and out of breath) to show nothing happened. I then lift up the 7 of clubs to show it blank. I
explain that apparently I could only muster enough power to get the ink to transfer! And I then
reveal the 7 of clubs printing on the back of the 9 of diamonds.
Great effect and the
"patter" makes the trick fun, gets a few laughs, and doesn't take it too seriously. It really is a
good trick and the secret really is clever!
I always have a lot of fun with this trick I
absolutely love it. There are a lot of silly magic tricks that we had when we were kids that are
actually decent little tricks that you can really have fun with if you make it known that you are
aware it's kind-of a kids trick.
Get it! 7 bucks and a million laughs.
