You'll definitely need flash cotton for the flint flashers work. The directions say it works with flash paper, but I didn't find that to be true. Even with flash cotton, the consistency of ignition is about 7/10. The unit is compact and the flint seems to spark well enough. Flash cotton along with the sparking dust provides a superb effect. The price is right for what you get.
